At Teepee Day Nursery, we make it our business to know what’s going on and we pride ourselves in keeping our finger on the pulse. We regularly compare rates locally and nationally to make sure that we offer really competitive rates of pay. Our team all work flexible hours to suit their own work/life balance. You can choose to work: * Full time * Part time * Condensed hours, working full time over four days for instance * The earlier shift or the later shift. We try to keep overtime to a minimum but when it is required, we always pay you for it or give you the time off in lieu. And we only ask you to carry out the role that you are actually employed for. So, unlike other nursery providers, we won’t ever ask you to do the evening cleaning.

Training, Development & Career Progression

We invest heavily in our training and development programme. That is why we are Ofsted Outstanding as well as having Gold Investors in People. Ofsted described us as having an ‘excellent staff training programme’. This starts from day one. We have a thorough mentoring and induction programme which lasts the whole six months of your probation. We pay for everything to get you started: the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, safeguarding training, paediatric first aid and Level 2 Food Hygiene and much, much more. Once you’re fully inducted, we offer fantastic training opportunities – we have everyone from apprentice Level 2s to an MA, and everything in between! Even though we are small (and beautiful) we have loads of opportunities for career eg progression, either by moving into a more managerial position or taking on additional responsibility in an area that interests you. Investors in People said 'there were many examples of people progressing and getting promoted within The Teepee. There is a perception that people’s strengths are taken into consideration when looking at roles and also enriching people’s roles to give people greater responsibility' and they went onto say 'People’s experiences, strengths and interests are not underestimated and there are opportunities for people to use them in the Nursery: crafting the roles to the person and their capabilities.'

We believe that with us you get the best of both worlds. Day nurseries tend to be either small businesses that are privately run, or larger nurseries that are part of a chain. Teepee is the best of both. It’s a small, loving children’s nursery with the award-winning mentality and best practice of a much larger business. Our Investors in People assessor agreed and awarded us a Gold. They summarised in their report stating that 'your key strengths lie in your people and the nurturing and caring environment you provide.' going on to say 'trust is two-way and fully believed.' Promotion, Career Progression: Case Study - Wendy

Even though we are small (and beautiful) we have loads of opportunities for career eg progression, either by moving into a more managerial position or taking on additional responsibility in an area that interests you. When we were awarded a Gold Award by Investors in People, they said 'there were many examples of people progressing and getting promoted within The Teepee.' We have many examples of colleagues joining us as either apprentices or unqualified practitioners and then being promoted to Room Manager, Deputy or even Nursery Manager. Wendy joined us in 2014 as a Nursery Cleaner. She shone in this role through and through, although as time went on Wendy decided that she wanted to act on her dreams and work as an Early Years Practitioner. In 2015 Wendy started to work with the children and has since gone on to complete her Level 2 and Level 3 in Early Education and now we are proud to say she is one of our Room Managers. Wendy said, “I can honestly say "you're never too old to start a new career path" I’m proof! I've done it!” and she went onto say "it’s thanks to Teepee’s continuous professional development programme with its effective training that has allowed me to progress from the cleaner to Level 2[practitioner], Level 3 [practitioner], Room Leader and now to Room Manager, where I oversee the baby unit and the cleaning team, all in such a short period of time!" We say, “Go Wendy – you are such an asset…. It has been a true pleasure watching you reach for your dreams”

Award-winning including Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ The Ofsted inspection for Teepee Day Nursery Bracknell in July 2019 (and the two previous inspections) judged us to be ‘Outstanding’ – the highest rating that a childcare provider or school can achieve. In fact, we’re the only day nursery in Bracknell ever to have received this award. And we’ve won lots of other awards too. Our Early Years Apprenticeship Programme

We know that we do the most important role in the world… caring for and educating our next generation. It isn’t called the Foundation Stage (of learning and education) for nothing! We take our role very seriously and none more so than training up the next generation of Early Years Educators. Apprenticeships are the lifeblood of our organisation; we are proud to welcome new practitioners into the sector and provide them with all of the necessary skills to work with the very youngest children in our society. Undertake an apprenticeship and you will gain all of the knowledge, skills and on-the-job learning so that you can qualify at either Level 2 or Level 3. We have a well-crafted induction and training programme, as well as a knowledgeable and friendly team on hand to mentor you through your qualifications. Many of our apprentices have gone on to work with us, and have been promoted into more senior roles such as Early Years Educator, Room Manager, Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager. We welcome applications for either undertaking either Level 2 or Level 3 depending on your existing knowledge or qualifications.
