Got job offer via email, no interview needed

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I applied for job online and did an online test. A few days later I received an email letting me know that I have got the job. There is a lot to take in during training sessions but the trainers are all very helpful.

Pros

Quick offer of job

Cons

A lot of information given in a very short time

Stressful and unrewarding environment

This is for the student loans company, back to back calls every day which can be stressful as constantly need to meet KPI, you don’t get even close to paid enough for this job with the amount of work you need to do, management are actually good and I do believe they do care about you, some shifts can be draining and patterns could even be from 11-8, at times there are opportunities to promote and you get up skilled but don’t even get paid more so want to pay you the same for doing more than what your actually doing, the company see you as just a number and not as an individual, please stay away

Was a decent place to work

I enjoyed my time at TP had a good manager and a good team. Things were done when you needed them. Had some system issues which were frustrating. Other than that can't complain too much.

Just leave you to get on with it with minimal training and if you make a mistake it's your fault.

Managers and trainers dissappear. You dont get much actual experience before expected to take calls on your own. The pay (minimum wage) is not fair for what you're expected to do. You have so many systems to use and memorise but not clear exactly when to use. Managers seem very cliquey. Dont really tell you your schedule and aren't able to negotiate hours. I needed my rota ASAP but didn't get it for 4 weeks. End the day feeling more stressed. Shifts are 9 hours with 1 hour unpaid.

fair workplace.

Always accommodating to needs. If need to reduce hours or boost hours. Change hours. Fair pay for all ages. Training to move up always available. If you need help just ask.

Pros

Fair pay for all ages

Cons

None

Fun place to work

Easy work from home job, fun place to work, good opportunities for progression if you work hard, good support given to staff by team managers and wider company

Standard call centre work

Decent enough for what it is. Good for progression (in my experience at least) but training often lacking (found this to be the case on multiple campaigns). Hours and pay all fine, management sometimes with a tendency to micro-manage but think this comes with the territory for call centres. Calls can sometimes be difficult but again, to be expected. Absolute shocker of a payroll department though - never seen anything like it.

Pros

Easy enough work once you get the hang of it, good colleagues

Cons

Payroll department

Fast pace, stressful

Very difficult campaign I worked with. Different scenarios and all types of different customers to deal with. fast volume number of calls to take. Must be prepared to help the customer out and know how to solve there issues or you will struggle. Had to learn a new complex CRM system. Training was shorter for what we needed to cover.. could of been a little longer. Had ongoing problems with IT equipment at home which resulted in me leaving.Benefits where working from home 5 days a week. good work-life balance.

Expects a lot for continual minimum wage

Worked there 10 years ago. HR good and they stick to proper procedure. Constantly low wages and always lose any pay rises when min wage goes up. Seemingly no reward for loyalty. Good training and possibility for progression.

Unless desperate

Under VW campaign in TP, Colleagues and managers are good to get along with however managers were unhelpful and we had a specific support line for advisors for on call problems, wage is okay and there is a bonus if you pass (get a green mark) on your calls however call advisors, if you get a mark down it can be for thing such as using slang (unprofessional) which can ruin the bonus, the breaks are terrible only being given 1 hours break in total (two 15 mins and one 30 mins lunch) despite working for 8 hours and sitting in a seat through this time without a standing desk or a gym in office for spending your time can be quite straining causing this can be unhealthy for you physically and mentally. Because it feels like you are working 9 hours per day (9am-6pm), there is no opportunity for out of work life balance apart from the weekends and it feels like you are consistently working through the week or tired. Job security is okay if you follow the simple steps at the start of the call and learn how to deal with common queries which don’t take long, as long calls (10 mins +) are not marked, however long calls become persistent managers will be on your back about AHT as you have a total of 600 seconds to complete the call and finish your notes. The only benefit is colleagues you meet will become friends but the managers and higher ups couldn’t care less about mental health and some of the floor walkers (when learning calls) are too big headed. Unless you want to be bored out your skull, have constant pressure on your back, deal with dealerships who don’t give a RUBBISH about the -

Badly organised

Badly organised campaign. Low wage and unsupportive management. Good to work from home as it saves on commute. Says it's the best place to work but there are better companies out there.

All these call center blend together

I’ve had a lot of experience in a few big call center companies. Working from general customer service to sales. Teleperformance is one of the worst, the work life balance is completely off. The pay for the amount of work you do is off. Try getting in touch with payroll or HR, good luck. I got depressed working here, no room to breath between calls, then after 2 months your upskilled, so basically, expected to take on a more demanding role and more call volume for the same pay. Nice. No paid break or lunch so they don’t even have a positive compared to say webhelp (also not great, but atleast paid breaks). Some of the managers here are ok, but most you just dread talking to them, for any reason.

Pros

They send you equipment

Cons

Everything else

Incestuous Management Culture

A cliquey amateurish management culture here prevents any real opportunity for individual growth or prospects for most employees. They are totally unsupportive to staff and only too keen to criticise the most minor things. Shoddy company with no real moral ethics espite their vacuous management hype...

Stressful

Stressful place to work with unhelpful managers and long shifts, training provided was inadequate, Asking for time off is a waste of time, managers seem to either be walking clichés who spout useless quotes to live by or passives aggressive psychos who can't communicate to you as an equal and seem to think they can treat you however they see fit.

Terrible place to work

Lots of stress taking inbound calls, minimum pay, minimum breaks, have to stay at your desk all day and ask to go to the loo. Persistent issues with pay ie not getting paid when you should. Some of the Team Leaders are fair and good but others are terrible. All calls are monitored and marked down if you make errors. I’m just resigning after 18 months, I nearly had a nervous break down. Awful place !! I’m

Pros

None

Cons

Stressful, issues with pay regularly, poor pay for the level of stress you have, terrible training, poor management, disorganised, chaotic

Stressful and don’t have time for yourself

Thrown into the deep end after training. There’s support when you need it but in the mean time you have ti figure it out yourselves. Quite to start of with then gets really busy and too stressful. Not good for people struggling with mental health.

Pros

Remote working

Cons

Stressful and no time for breaks too busy
