Customer Assistant in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire

Collusion and drama is too much to deal with
I would not recommend this job. Management is poor and the place is full of gossipers and some backstabbers. Please try not to make friends with coworkers.
Online Shopper in West Midlands

Good place to work
Easy as anything. Quick to learn. Nice customers. Free uniform. Training. Free drinks and toast. Large staff room. Loads of lockers. Pleasant staff. Good rate of pay.
Shop Assistant in Henley on Thames

Awful, nasty
The managers and older staff pick on the youngers and the work load is so unevenly distributed based on this. I would never go back personally. The company does the most they can to save money and the lower paid workers end up being the ones to lose out so they can meet their target. Very stingy and no respect for the workers.

Interview questions

Why do you want to work at tesco

Shared on 13 October 2020

They asked five questions. Some can have follow up questions but they aren't difficult. Not in order: 1. Tell me about a time you were subject to follow policy/rules that you didn't like - did you follow them? did you challenge them? did you have a better way of doing things? 2. Tell me about a time where you were under pressure - how did you deal with it? 3. Tell me about a time where you had to use teamwork 4. Tell me about a time where you had to deal with a complaint/upset customer - was it resolved? 5. Tell me about a time where you had to adapt to a change This may not be the same for every store but this is what was on the Tesco interview sheet that the interviewer was filling out.

Shared on 5 October 2020

“Ask me a bit about yourself” Then a bunch of “tell me a time when” questions like- You went the extra mile for a customer, You handled pressure, You got good feedback, Worked as a team, Dealt with challenging customers etc
