Justice Administrator in Reading

Criminal Justice Administration
I have largely enjoyed my time at TVP, as I have worked in several departments with different focusses within the wider Criminal Justice System. However, there is limited opportunity for career progression, and you do find that technologically the outside world moves much faster than the Public Sector. The work is vital, however trivial it may seem at the time, which is often well-appreciated by senior officers (although the trend among civilian management doesn't follow suit), and there is a lot of camaraderie around the Force.

Not a great a place to work
Management is poor and they is really no value in you as an individual. You are merely a resource to be used and disposed off. The people you have to deal with are usually all unpleasant and any good work is quickly forgotten.
Duty Planner in Reading, Berkshire

I really enjoyed my time TVP. Unfortunately contract ended. Everyday was a challenge in itself, and never the same, varied and confidential. Loved it.
Police Support Volunteer in Reading, Berkshire

Friendly interesting work place.
This has been a simple, but interesting routine job enabling me to keep one foot in the door of an office alongside bringing up my family. During my time with Thames Valley Police I have got to know how modern day policing is carried out. Reading’s office jointly with the entire force has been extremely friendly and supportive working together in a collabororative way. There has been nothing hard about the job. The most enjoyable part about the job has been seeing how my ideas of lateral thinking have enabled colleagues work to be more time efficient.

very stressfull job with no resources
lack of direction from mamangemt, lack or resources. The job is the best job in the world, which is made very hard by having no moral. The whole police force has no direction with lack of respect for the victims of crime.
