Reviews for Home Manager at The Abbeyfield Society
Hard Work high stress level.
Although I initially enjoyed working in the home I soon found I was on call 24/7 no overtime payments and taking the time back was virtually impossible. Little or no support from Business Manager. The entire company seemed disorganised and disjointed. Staff at the home were good with residents but not prepared to anything they weren't being paid for. None of them would put themselves to improve the life of the residents. I was also expected to drive all over the country to attend meetings, conferences etc. Mileage was paid but not travel time and when you are faced with a 3-4 hour drive to attend a 6 hour meeting and a 3-4 hour drive home again and go to work the next day it can get a bit tiring.
Long hours, lack of support.
