I never thought I'd get back into a job again working around two children but agincare has made it as easy as it can be. My manager is always on hand to help if I need anything and gets any problems sorted as quickly as she can and one of the nicest people to meet. The pay benefits are brilliant to, there's the blue light card and refer a friend also #agincareer.

Pros

Blue light card, refer a friend, brilliant manager

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We offer a variety of roles and shifts to enable as many people as possible to work within the Agincare family. We are so pleased to hear that you are able to work around your children and that you feel supported by the team.

Great company to work for

Every day is different, even though you see the same faces throughout the week.It can be challenging buts that's the nature of the job. But the reward of supporting people who need it and helping them have independence is so motivating and inspiring.I've learned alot about myself in this role and and there is a lot of potential training opportunities. The management are very approachable and actually listen to the staff and make changes to help the team and the clients we support.Great team ethic and a great culture of focusing on the outcome for clients, there hasn't been any one upmanship attitudes.I would recommend anyone who works in care to join Agincare Chippenham.

Good workplace if live in is for you

During my time with AginCare , I had an overall feel to the company. I did 3 placements each one I didn’t enjoy (live in isnt for me hence why) but when I had a quart management was quick to resolve. Always placements available and range from £600-£850 a week depending on the client. £150 training in there branches , £500 bonus after 2 weeks in a placement and bi-weekly pay.

Pros

Pay

Cons

Placement lengths

Caring, supportive and passionate about developing their team

I have been with Agincare for nearly 5 years now and during that time I have gone from a domiciliary carer to a senior carer and now a field care supervisor. I absolutely love my job, knowing that I make a difference to those that need extra support is an amazing feeling. Agincare has given me a lot of opportunities to not only advance as a carer but also as an individual too. The team around me is so supportive and we all work together to ensure the safety of our service users and each other

Busy full days

In my job I help with personal care so ensuring that they are ready for the day and I support food and fluid to ensure that the service users are eating and drinking plenty also I have learnt a lot bc of different skills and my own confidence has increased in the two years I have been onboard with agincare .The management are amazing and will support with anything any way they can . the workplace is amazing staff are very friendly and approachable and I would say that hardest part of being a care assistant is when you sadly have a patient pass away and going in to hospital and not knowing what’s going but then I like to help people gain their confidence back and their independence back that they may not have had before we started caring for them and I love the smiles on peoples faces when I walk in the door because they could have been having a rubbish day and then I walk in and big smiles all around the house

Productive

A typical day at work for me is getting up and travelling from house to house by bus to help people with day to day tasks like personal care, cooking, general household chores and talking but mainly making sure there safe and well looked after.I believe I learn a lot about the people I help. The hardest part of the job is when the buses are late. The most enjoyable part of the job is helping others with day to day tasks and talking.

Pros

Talking to people

Your description of a typical day, with its variations, provides a balanced perspective.Thank you once again for your feedback.

Very productive and highly rewarding

A typical day at work could be productive and unique. I have learnt a whole lot from Agincare particularly caring for people (clients and others) . The management is people (clients and staff) friendly. Sunday shifts hardest due to Arrival buses time. Friendly staff at office is the most enjoyable part of the job.

Pros

Weekly bus ticket

Cons

Long hours

Good place to be!

I really enjoyed my time in the role I was working (unfortunately I was made redundant) after a very short period of time.Whilst working in the Poole Office I built a good network of new work friends and managed to engage a lot of new international applicants which was really good fun.A typical day was as standard within the recruiting side of the sector, however rather than just working to KPIS l, their was a degree of autonomy!

Pros

Supportive in house management, Hybrid Working

Cons

Unwanted surprises after a very short stint.

Awful management and no work life balance

I worked with Agincare just over a year. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND. Do not rely on management. They do not care. So many incidents with residents which management covers up. Only think about the effect it will cause on themselves. They lure you in with freebies but just cover up that they’re an awful company to work with. So many issues sent to HR that have been covered up. So unfair for the residents, especially those most vulnerable. They put you into 12-15 hour shifts with no breaks last minute and if you can’t work it your responsible to find cover last minute, if not you get punished. You get no support via an on call system, and if one’s in place no one answers the call so you just have to guess what to do. I could go on about this for years. Just don’t work here, find somewhere that actually cares about your well-being as well as the residents.

The job was rewarding but also been stressful and wages could have been better. Better wages really would make this job more attractiv.

Don't know what changed in the mean timeWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Running around to get everything done. We simply would have need more staff

Lots of work, kind office workers, not always keep thirs words

I work for Agincare for more than 5 years only because I get along with my service user which are fantastic man. For match me with the client I would give them 6 on 5 stars. Apart of it the support war kind but poor. No pay rise for years, and battle for each time. Do not care if I miss my break time and not willing to fight for me to get it back. No communication, no phone calls (just dry business). The hardest part was that I was working weeks without any support. The best part was my client busy life I took part in. He was the greatest part of my work in Agincare

Pros

great client

Cons

Long hours

Thank you for sharing your five-year journey with Agincare. We deeply value your commitment and dedication to providing care and support. It's wonderful to hear that you have formed fantastic relationships with your client over the years. However, we do acknowledge the points you've raised about the support system and compensation. While we are pleased that you found the support to be kind, we understand that there have been areas where it fell short of your expectations. We are continually working to enhance the support structure and communication within our teams to ensure that all caregivers feel valued and heard. We also recognise your concerns regarding pay and the battles you've had to face. Your dedication deserves fair compensation, and we are actively reviewing our compensation policies to ensure they reflect the dedication and hard work of our caregivers. We're sorry to learn that you felt working without support was a challenge at times. Our goal is to provide a cohesive and collaborative environment, and we are committed to addressing these issues to ensure that all caregivers have the necessary support to excel in their roles. If you wish to discuss any of these matters further, please do not hesitate to reach out to us privately. Nice place to work but long hours

I enjoyed working here, management were nice. However days were long and hard. Care staff were sometimes quite clicky but you tend to get that in every care home
