The Farmstead have seen quite a turnover in management. This has not always been for the best however we not only have an amazing new management team but a great acting manager. Someone positive and proactive who finally listens and does what is promised. Don’t get me wrong they can’t perform miracles but they are honest and if something isn’t possible they explain why. The Farmstead has a new vision now we no longer do enablement care and we are all really excited about the future. This is a great place to work
Free Lunches, cakes, biscuits, lots of treats, good supportive senior team
Changes but we are hopeful about this new team
I've worked at the farmstead awhile and Its true we have seen our fair share of managers. I work here because I love my job, I love making a difference and I feel a great sense of pride and achievement in my role. Its a beautiful place to work and I've made some great friends. The work is fast paced on the enablement unit as there is a constant flow of admissions and discharges but this is the nature of the unit and no two days are ever the same. I would highly recommend working here not least of all at long last we have a supportive management team who really care, they listen and try to resolve issues straight away when they arise. They encourage us to work closely supporting each other, looking out for each other which really has lifted our spirits.
Free lunches, lots of goodies, all femsle staff recieved chocs on mothers day
Its hard work and thsts not for everyine
My job is not easy and in covid is hard. Food is good and we can have a meal same as residents. I’m able to do qualifications to get promoted. a new manager this year who is changing things which is good for the residents and us. She says thank you when we finish our shift which is not what we had before. Staff have left and that good as they cause trouble and shouted and were rude. Love my job love my residents.
Great team, know my rota
From the moment I stepped foot into the place I knew I made a great decision to start my career here. The residents are brilliant to work with and have the best quality of life they could ask for! The management team are supportive I wouldn’t say I had a bad world to say about them. Career prospects they will support you with your journey in anyway you want. It can be a stressful place to work but doesn’t every job come with it’s stress’s?? I didn’t have a bad experience working here and anyone who says that it’s a bad place they are wrong aren’t doing the carers there now any favours the staff there are lovely to work with and the hone inside is a beautiful if your looking for a reliable and caring place then this is the place to work. Don’t listen to the negative reviews that has been put it because they are wrong in so many ways. When I worked there the food that the chefs made was okay some of the food the residents didn’t eat as it’s not what they are used to they needed the old types of food. Domestic staff are friendly but don’t really interact with the residents. And activities aren’t the best unfortunately they needed to make a change there.. but this is going on past. This isn’t a bad home that it’s made out to be
Free lunches, free uniforms, support from management team and career prospects and development.
12 hour shifts. Can be stressful at times.
Management constantly look down on staff with no support from anyone with higher authority. Most senior's sit around all day and do bare minimum whilst others will abuse their "power" or think they are actually within the management team.Residents do NOT come first here and there is absolutely 100% NO RESPECT between staff. Constant bickering, drama, chinese whispers of "he said", "she said" etc.No room for progression within the company due to laziness and instead told to sort it all out ourselves. No sympathy for those with children or outside commitments and expected to drop everything at a moment's notice for "meetings" that don't have any positive impacts to follow up with.Do not apply for a job here, it is not as pretty as it looks.
Disrespect, Panic Attacks, Lack of Help
Unfortunately, for the hype and the jazzed up website, the walk around and interview will not prepare you for working at the farmstead. The wage isn't worth what the care staff are put through. Senior staff don't listen and don't care that the care team are run off their feet or exhausted. The place is extrelmy short staffed. No insentive to do extra hours but you are guilt tripped in to doing them anyway. The residents are very very high demand with some being extrelmy rude and aggressive, some are even violent. You will hardly ever have any time off and will work every weekend. The hourly rate doesn't change for night staff even though it is only one care member per floor with one nurse, while the nurse is doing everything she is supposed to, you are on your own. They would never do this on a day shift. You will go home with your body hurting from all the running around and manual handling you will be doing on your own. The training is abmismally poor. There is no support or negotiation on rota changes. The upper management will descend upon you in the middle of the night and stay in an unused room as if it were their own personal hotel. You hardly ever see the manger unless there is a meeting, so any issues or problems you face, have to filter through the lower management. Very little and poor communication throughout the company. It has been open for eight months and have had clients in for six but they are still running out of the basics such as pads, wipes etc. For a new company less than a year old, the fact that upper management have come down to "turn the place around" - more...
