Couldn’t recommend working at the Mixing Jug enough! Flexible hours for a catering customer service style job in a busy environment but with a relaxed attitude!
Such a fun and friendly work place, and working at festivals is a really good experience! You’re able to meet new people all the time and there’s a friendly atmosphere working with The Mixing Jug.
Pros
Fun work days, friendly atmosphere, good pay, able to go to festivals, and it’s an overall good experience!
Good working environment, relaxed and friendly staff and management, simple training and free festival entry - a great alternative to working at a bar!
Pros
Enjoyable work, friendly staff, free food
Cons
Long hours on your feet
A well managed and positive environment to work in. All the employees are friendly and get on well with one another, making the atmosphere in the van very enjoyable. The work is simple and training provided quickly and efficiently, I definitely learnt a lot! Interacting with lots of customers and stall owners is also a great aspect to the job, as is 'trading' with other vendors and getting some incredible food! The job is perfect for casual part time work in summer for students where you will be respected and well paid.
Pros
Free food/drinks
Cons
Long hours!
Extremely fun to work for the mixing jug, I worked 5 events for them this summer and every single one was brilliant. Due to the structure of the work it was very relaxed and laid back most of the time however at peak hours the work picked up and required additional input. Definitely would work for them again in the future.
Pros
Yummy Smoothies and free coffee
Cons
Long Hours standing up
The training is done on the day, mainly making coffees and smoothies. The equipment is very easy to use and quick to understand, even if you aren’t familiar with particular types of coffees (like me). Workplace culture was friendly and management is very easy to talk to. The hardest part of the job was long hours standing, I wouldn’t recommend this job if you have troubles standing for what can be a few hours at a time. This was not a problem for me and the majority of people I worked with though! Lunch was also given through ‘swaps’ with other food companies which was a positive. The best part of the job was the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day and seeing satisfied customers.
Pros
Friendly management, learn on the job, positive environment
Cons
Long hours standing
A very good experience doing something a bit different!! Really loved being able to make the smoothies and serve a mixture of different people at brilliant events!!
Pros
Friendly workers
Cons
A little bit cold
