Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWorked for this company for over 2,5 years and all was going well until I asked for pay rise. I was consistently receiving more tasks and responsibilities that involved a lot of time but no promotion or pay rise attached to it.. when I asked for pay rise I was declined it and next day a lot of tasks were taken from me. 2 months later I’ve been made redundant

Go somewhere else to work not here
Go somewhere else to work not here. You better go to the store for work. Driving above the speed limit. The company is not responsible for accidents caused by you. you work from 9 p.m. until dawn, sometimes until 9 a.m. seriously don't choose this place if you don't have to. One rate is especially confusing so that you don't know how much you earn and you pay the tax yourself.
Pros
nothing
Cons
too much to describe, don't choose

Jobs at The Modern Milkman
Decent place to work
Milkman (Current Employee) - Loughborough - 15 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Good atmosphere at the hub. Being left to crack on with your deliveries. Once you're done, you get to go straight home What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Nothing particularly stressful. Probably your first couple weeks after training while you get used to it What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Decent atmosphere at the hub. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Usually between 180- 220 drops a night

Good place to work
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Leeds - 7 November 2023
Fun if you don’t mind working through the night and being on the road, day rate so once you’re done you’re done. Can get a great hourly pay if you’re quick.

dangerous and some routes difficult
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Orpington, Greater London - 10 August 2023
the vans they give you to work in are not looked after at all. On my first shift the wheel will had come off while driving because there were no bolts attached to secure the wheel to the vehicle. On another day not long after that i got given a van where the lighter socket weren’t working which means I had no ability to charge my phone…which is no good because you have to use your own personal phone to work the job, i had to go back to the depot halfway through my shift and wait for somebody else to finish soo i could take their van and then go back out to complete the rest of the jobs. Some routes are okay but other routes in certain areas that are built differently are very difficult . In certain croydon areas you are sent down long country roads with houses to deliver to which are very tough to find. A lot of houses in that area also have long alleyways you have to walk down or high number of steps you have to go up and down which eats into soo much of your time which also affects your performance.

Not what it says on the tin
Milkman (Current Employee) - England - 7 June 2023
A lot of lies and underhand tactics, wages aren’t paid on time or regular, the wage is also now sanctioned if a customer complains u loose a percentage of your wage could potentially be half of that daily wage so some night 8 hours work could be worth £40/£50 to you, hardley ever get a response when you ask management a question and if your face don’t fit you will be let go
Pros
Free food
Cons
Long hours

Not worth the money
The wage is terrible and they say you can use a van no charge to get to and from work but take money of your wage to use it only to get to and from work and they say you get a bonus for 200 plus drops but only the couple that’s been there from the start get that bonus
Pros
None
Cons
Everything

What is the best part of working at the company? It’s a poor job where you work hard for nothing What is the most stressful part about working at the company? More you do more they ask you to do Ex : you start with 60 delivery’s after a week they ask you to do 160 / more What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It’s a company where they delivery ,milk ,bread ,granola ,juices and etc What is a typical day like for you at the company? Nightmare the support is horrendous

Disappointing
What is the best part of working at the company? The best part is when you quit that job. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? They increase the number of deliveries every day, and sometimes give part of the deliveries from those who doesn’t show to work to you. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? You have a different supervisor every week. They’ve started without knowing the drivers, so they treat everyone like they are children and don’t know they’re duties. What is a typical day like for you at the company? You have to find a petrol station that their cards are accepted to fill up the tank in the middle of the night. If the van gets a tyre puncture you have to sit and wait for them to show up and fix it.

Draining
Night Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Preston - 8 May 2023
I worked at the preston depot , You go one one training night then your pretty much left to do it your self , then if something happens to your van your expected to get it sorted on your own time , if you work it out your getting paid less then minimum wage most of the time if you work out the hours you work to the money you get ,you basically get half a day off a week if your sick you dont get paid and if you dont tell them your sick with 12 hours notice you get fined £100 plus you dont get your day rate . I left and never got paid my final wage . Wouldnt recommend working there

Terrible is an understatement
Milkman (Former Employee) - Warrington - 15 February 2023
If you enjoy being taken for a mug this is the job for you. Management don’t listen to any issues just tell you what they think you want to hear. If you want to get finished early or on time be prepared to break several traffic laws. Wages not paid when you leave the company or have any time off
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours, low pay, barely any free time

Nice company, lacks focus
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Manchester - 15 December 2022
TMM isn't a bad company by any means, but like many start-ups trying to break into a big business space, they often felt like they were chasing trends rather than sticking to a plan of action. Hiring and redundancies seemed to happen on a whim based on what the company was wanting month-to-month, departments would go from sitting with no work to do to being completely overwhelmed within days due to poor resource management, and there were no significant benefits to speak of.
Pros
Nice people
Cons
Bad organisational standard

Fast paced & rewarding
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 23 November 2022
Fast paced which I don’t mind. It is job & knock and basically get paid more for doing my job right. Management are fair and if I need nights off they are very accommodating. Given and Van and fuel card to complete my round and my wages are always paid on time. Best place I’ve worked in a long time
Pros
Van & Fuel
Cons
Physical job I’ve lost some weight if you class that as a Con
