Not the best

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The people at head office are genuinely nice people who appear to care for their staff. Depot managers on the other hand... try and make staff feel guilty to do more than they can possibly manage. Communication is not the best

Pros

None

Cons

Don't get paid for working over, expected to do far too many sites in one day

Not the best place to work They're stab you in the back at Leeds I'm Newcastle want to know why they go through so many people because they need to get people in that can run it properly half of the members go on when they like and leave the part drivers out and then make you work over hours nearly every day of the week you'll get a week's worth of training in Newcastle as soon as you're in leeds You getting nothing

Pros

Free tea and coffee

Cons

Long hours and some of the stuff are backstabbers

Decent place to work

Good people only a small team at the Leeds depot which worked for me.It’s got quite a bit of manual handling but it is easy enough once you know how to manoeuvre the machines and pool tables around.

Pros

9 to 5 job

Cons

Don’t get paid overtime

A lot to learn to start with but once you get to grips with everything it's easily manageable. Always help and support from colleagues if needed. Good working hours.

A lovely place to work, people actually do care about you

Having worked in the public sector for many years, where at times you were just classed as a number. It is so nice to work for a family ran business who really do care about you and your family. I felt comfortable here from the day of my first interview.

Pros

Development Investment Support

Busy but fulfilling!

Every day is different, while it is a high pressure environment, the role is still rewarding. The management are willing to listen and personal concerns are addressed. There is a strong team ethic throughout the company, colleagues are willing to help and support each other if a difficult situation arises.

Pros

Despite the company being a considerable size, you are still treat as an individual.

Cons

The nature of the work the company covers means that the work environment can often be stressful, however it is expected as this is the business we are involved in.

Great place to work, friendly and helpful management team and staff

exciting and challenging working environment. Everyday is different but rewarding. Very supportive staff and management. A flexible company to work for. Some days can be long and hard but these even out with an equal amount of more relaxed and time managed days.

Exciting - Challenging - Fantastic team.

Thinking outside the box, never a dull moment, having occasional difficult conversations, having lots of positive feedback and rewards for success. I particularly like my role because of its diversity: Planning, analysis, customer reviews, out on the road, on site meetings, decision making, technical knowledge & training.... and sales of course! How do I fit it all in!? Through the support of the best team in the business. I've worked with some great people in this industry but by far I am happiest at Bob Rudd. From the top, and throughout the company, the support and friendliness is by far the best.

Pros

Nice vehicle for private use, Good facilities at the office, Great nights out for business and occasional get togethers.

Friendly Environment, Great Staff, Endless Support, Family Feel, Business you want to be a part off.

I had an interview at the Haydock Depot and was greeted by my now manager and her colleague, I felt very comfortable and was offered the job soon after receiving a phone call from HR. Since working for this company i found it has a true family feel, everyone is always there to support you and offer help. The Haydock team who i deal with daily are great, nothing is too much trouble for them. My direct manager, has been a great mentor to me, helping me learn the industry and is always there when i need help. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for new employment as they all really welcome you and it is a really enjoyable place to work. I am so glad to be a part of the Bob Rudd Haydock Depot.

Pros

Great people to work with, Endless support, Good holidays, Opportunity to progress, Good commute, Good working hours, Family feel

Cons

Good, Friendly and success driven workplace

I started here 3 years ago as a collector and within 2 years I was given the opportunity to be a BDM. Good place to work with friendly, approachable colleagues.Lot's of varying work with progression opportunities if you are striving to learn more. It's a growing and successful business, consistently evolving and learning new ways of working every day. Ideas from colleagues are taken on board to meet the success of the business as a whole. Good salary and regular pay reviews.

Challenging but rewarding

Great place to work and great people to work with! The industry is not 9-5 so some days are long and challenging but on the plus side no two days are the same!Great opportunities for progression with the company and rewards for hard work and achievement. There is always someone on hand for help and support if needed and it feels more like a family than a workplace If you like variety and challenges and are prepared to work hard you will definitely reap the benefits at Bob Rudd.

Great family ran company and a pleasure to work for!

Fast paced environment but a joy to work in. Since starting this year the company could not have been more welcoming. Working closely with the operations manager and national account manager this past year has been a pleasure. They could not have helped me enough in settling me into my role. Looking forward to many more years at the Rudd Group.

Pros

Company Car

Highly Rewarding

I started working for Bob Rudd almost 5 years ago on a 2 year apprenticeship at the age of 16, I was then taken on as a full time employee upon completion of my apprenticeship. Two years later I was then promoted to a executive role in a different department which is highly rewarding. The team support is fantastic and I have been given opportunities I never thought I would at such a young age. I have enjoyed learning the ins and outs of the company and industry along the way.

Pros

Opportunity's

family run business, pleasure to work for !!!!!

I have worked for the Rudd Group for a number of years now, I started off as a collector and worked my way up through the company as a business development manager and now office based due to mobility problems. So if you are looking to progress your career through the company this is a great place to work for. The industry itself was hugely effected by covid last year but now restrictions have been listed the company is thriving. Every day is different, the days fly over as there is so much work to do. The Rudd family are all hands on and so kind. I have had lots of perks with working here and could not have been treat better. The staff are fantastic, we have great social evenings out !! l hope to be here until my retirement !!!!!

Pros

Free parking good working conditions Good team work flexibility

Great family business to work for having come from a large PLC means you are a person rather than a number!Proactive and forward thinking company, you get out of it what you put in. Management team work well together and all seem open and approachable. The team of collectors and Technicians across the depots are all a pleasure to work with.

Pros

good environment, team works well together

Cons

wish my commute wasn't so long!

Can be Very rewarding. Every day is different

Been with this company nearly 10 yrs now. Love my job & the satisfaction it gives me when customers are happy to see me. Can be challenging at times like most jobs but I have built up great relationships over the year's with customers from the 3 depots I've worked out of. And love being productive and supportive to all of them.

Pros

Every day is different

Cons

Can be frustrating
