When HR give themselves a new name.
Full time employee (Former Employee) - Charing Cross, Greater London - 26 May 2023
You know there's something not quite right when Human Resources rename themselves as Talent and Culture. Some nice people but alot of bullying cliques and fake smiles. They seem to enjoy making other departments life difficult and keep the benefits to themselves. If they don't like you then they will make your life very difficult to get you to leave. Terrible work culture with many lazy, arrogant managers. Good riddance as there's much better places to work without all these pathetic egos.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Human resources

If you love what you do avoid this place! The managers are useless!
Restaurant Assistant (Former Employee) - Bournemouth, Dorset - 7 May 2022
Possibly one of the worst places I’ve worked at by far…. To many egos in one place. Thom and luis are so unprofessional. I really don’t know how they got the job because they’re both useless, No skills whatsoever! Nothing good to learn here.. unfortunately! Wages not great either.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Long hours!

Friendly colleagues but poor management
F&B (Former Employee) - Charing Cross, Greater London - 26 April 2022
The best thing about working at the Savoy was the team people are so friendly. However, you work for very long hours social life is non existent. Management is not the greatest. There is no room for develop. They promise a lot but nothing is done. They need to look after their staffs a lot more. Most people you speak with working there are unhappy. The salaries are quite low.
Pros
Free lunch, laundry for staffs
Cons
Long hours, no room for development

Very busy
Commis Chef (Current Employee) - London - 16 April 2022
In the 6 mouths I've been working there I saw my salary going down every mouth. The management it's poor and the balance work-life doesn't exist. They give you staff food and uniforms and other NM ice services.

Lovely people, lots of discounts. Every day can be different and you do get to meet a lot of interesting people. Unfortunately hours are long and you depend on your line manager to change departments.
Pros
Staff discounts
Cons
Long hours

Productive and satisfactory
Royal Service Agent (Current Employee) - London - 17 February 2019
A typical day as a Royal Service Agent at The Savoy is very broad. You have to deal from complaints to good feedbacks from your guests whilst dealing with the daily task as well as delivering luxury high standards such as FORBES and LQA.
The managements is well distributed as everything is tracked down to make sure we enhance a wonderful journey for our guests from the beginning to the end. However the hardest part of the job is dealing with little tasks that comes out of the blu when on a busy day, as you do not want to upset anyone.
However, there is always time for a fun moment when guests enjoy talking to you or when you correctly deliver what they have asked for with the highest standards.
Pros
Discounts in the venues
Cons
Shifts timing - very variable

This place is the definition of "standards"
Great managers , great place but a hard job .
This place can teach every of us what`s mean "standards" and "professionalism". Is exactly what you can expect from an expensive 5 stars hotel but with a plus of style.
