Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGood job, pays well. Only left due to another opportunity which was more inline with what I wanted to do. Would recommend working at sigma if you are unsure what you want to do. Career progression is good

Wrong titled job
Temporary Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Birmingham City Centre, West Midlands - 20 October 2023
The job is a set up where a customer has allotted advisors to do a collection advisor role of setting up extended plans for customers who cannot afford their energy debts. I enjoyed changing tariff to help customers with future affordability. I was annoyed with the bell ringing of getting an extended plan. It reminded me of cancer patients in recovery. Their monthly target was £85000 which is the pre vat of a small business for a year. They rewarded with a £75 bonus when reached benchmark of 98%. I felt stressed by a colleague backbiting on another colleague. I did not want to fudge my performance to their monthly attainment? Signposting to a debt agency with a 1 hour wait when more practical to refer to bill organisations.
Pros
Monthly Bonus and friendly training group
Cons
Do capabilities for underlying health conditions

Extremely poor. I should of quit during training to spare me the stress.
Call Centre Operative (Former Employee) - Work from home (main office was based in Birmingham). - 12 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Working from home opportunity that was available. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of sufficient training to prepare for the job role and unprofessional behaviour from management and trainers. Also IT systems failing to continually work. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Too heavily statistic driven that results in poor customer service. Staff are driven to subtly compete against one another even though the role wasn't a sales one. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Being none stop busy till the end of the working day. Having to continually report system outages and crashes as to not be flagged as AWOL and cause a loss of pay. Having to frequently apologise for the long hold times and failures of other staff members / system issues.

Only here because it’s WFH
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 22 June 2022
You have to adhere to lunch and break times otherwise you get in trouble. The managers are very rude and always speak down to you. If you take 2 minutes off calls because you need a breather, you get your name plastered in the main chat where all other colleagues are in and you get belittled. We are supposed to have a performance review with our manager every month but we never get one, only expect a call from your manager if you have taken 1 minute longer break

Avoid at all cost !
Collections Advisor (Former Employee) - Home Based - 20 May 2022
Hmmmm. So what you do in the training is completely different to when you go on the live call! Your not taught everything! 2 weeks training is not long enough ! i applied for customer service , they end up putting me in collection … to me it’s like a sales role … all the care about is hitting targets every second . They just put you straight into live calls with no assistances , no one to help you along the way , when you do go for help you have to wait 15mins . I believe the managers just care about their bonuses. Trust me if you hate sales don’t bother working here , as it like a sales job basically. Even when you take a break you have to message the even when you take your already ARRANGED SCHEDULE BREAK! You then how to notify them every time your back , every time your doing something, you have to notify them ! If your wrap time is little over time they will be on your back . It like working with police . Completely different from every call centre job I have ever worked in , one of the worst ! And they pay chicken Change for the work you have to do ! Not worth it ! If you don’t like stress …. Don’t apply ! i was on the octopus energy campaign! I quit ! Loads of people dropped out the training group ! Because they saw sense faster than I did ! howver I stayed 3 days after training … and left!

Customer Service Advisor (Full-time) (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 2 May 2022
This is not a great work environment they are uncaring about mental health and management will try and bully you out of the job if you mention your struggles. Every department is so unprofessional. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone if anything RUN and don’t apply

Eon-next
Manager (Current Employee) - Home Based - 20 March 2022
I have worked in other roles within the company and since joining this project with EON-Next, I am shocked. The department is managed by leaders who lack really understanding, they have forced front line staff to manage training groups and they themselves are new to the job. I actually feel sorry for the customers.

Disorganised & underpaid with Shell Energy @ Sigma
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 9 March 2022
Not sure where to start with this company… The training provided was ok, until you actually get on the phones and realise that the training related to nothing like actually going live on the phones. On our training group, from the new starters, 6 members of staff left before we even completed training, there was 11 of us so more than half. I became to realise that staff retention is extremely poor. Management are rude, disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. The company in general pay low salaries and lengthy hours with little or no support. Not many rush to do overtime as there is no incentives to do so.

Poor
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 27 February 2022
The people you work with are amazing, bonuses and other 'benefits' unreachable, there are no benefits unfortunately. Not many people stick it out and leave within weeks. No work life balance.

Worked on the Scottish Power contract. Micro managed, high targets to reach. Constantly marked down, TM’s speak down to you. Every part of your work is monitored. Horrible phone calls! Very stressful. Short breaks! Your mental health is affected so badly. They want every ounce out of you. Back to back calls, by the end of your shift you are so tired and mentally drained!!
Pros
None
Cons
Target driven, very hard to meet the targets that are set. Micro managed. Managers speak down to you.

Awful - avoid at all costs....
Energy Advisor (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 27 January 2022
From ops manager to team Leader, your nothing but a number, your lied to constantly, no way to progress. You are promised training - never get it , promised support - never get it, constantly micro managed by a TL who has no knowledge just wants to tick boxes, you are not valued. HR do not respond with out several emails chasing them, ops managers are useless, only care about targets not customers.
Pros
9 to 5 wfh
Cons
Awful management, no support, HR never respond.
