Business Development Manager (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 7 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedJob role is more call centre dial dial not actual bdm role , role was sold very different to what it actually was , the potential is there if things change.

I'm glad I'm no longer there
Business Development Manager (Former Employee) - Havant - 20 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Snacks are free, used to be a hybrid structure What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Manager is useless and cannot actually do the job in terms of building and training a top team, she just leaves you for 6 months and than demands, they stand strong for their core values which half the company does not incorporate, shitshow What is the work environment and culture like at the company? No culture and stressful environment What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stuck on the phone pushing people to sign on with a job board that is outperformed by all its rivals and charges the most cos its looks pretty

Business Development Manager (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 17 May 2023
The processes constantly changing and people come and go, it was a lot better a few years ago, the company seems to be going backwards now. The commission structure is decent however again was better last year.

Disappointing
Key Account Manager (Former Employee) - London - 24 April 2023
Old fashioned culture. Not open to change. Ignorant to state of economy and world affairs impacting business. Lost amazing CEO who had worked hard to change culture and modernise the business. Going backwards. Adopted stack it high, sell it cheap mentality.
Pros
Excellent training. Subsidised travel cost. Free office snacks.
Cons
Ruthless culture. Stack it high, sell it cheap mentality. Teams pulling in opposite directions. Inflated OTE.

Toxic enviroment
If you want to be micromanaged, treated like a child whilst having the absolute world expected from you, great place to work. It used to be a great place, but it is so management heavy. The sales manager in Havant is so obsessed with people development, however has no idea how to develop people.

Tough & new business focused makes it unexciting and monotonous
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Hybrid - 8 March 2023
Initially was a nice place to work, gently eased into the role and training was 70% well laid out but they hide away the real day to day stuff and don’t expose you to real world daily grind which in the end revolves solely around new business generation and targets disproportionate with the state of the UK economy meaning season wins only exist through the 12 months of the year.

Toxic leadership, elitist, sales targets always changing last minute
Sales (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 17 September 2021
Company has massively gone downhill in the last 3 years. Middle management is being stripped out to take on directors to oversee directors. Many redundancies made in the last year but only sales and team leaders. German holding company have unrealistic expectations - UK businesses and customers operate very differently. Can't see a good future for this company which is a shame. The CEO comes from a different sector and seems pretty clueless.
Pros
Location, office, free fruit
Cons
Bad leadership, lad culture, lack of respect from senior management.

Do Not Work Here
Customer Service Consultant (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 10 February 2021
Had a lot of It issues whilst working from home got blamed for all of them by management! Had 2 monthly 1-1 both said I was doing great but then 2 days later I was told I wasn’t doing good and had made mistakes (although no feedback was given) Management was shocking, I was lied to on numerous occasions and made to feel like their inadequate IT department did everything they could although dell told them not to send the same laptop out yet they did 3 times.
Pros
Great people to work with (not management)
Cons
Management & IT department.

Fun place to work if your hitting target
Business Development Manager (Former Employee) - Blackfriars Station - 10 June 2020
Left to your own devices, a place of work for independent individuals that like to work in a team to hit company targets, lots of training on hand from different departments, good perks, only negative for me is coronavirus ended my journey there.
Pros
career development, win team lunches, holidays and bonuses
Cons
Coronavirus, the people that are supposed to help dont help you.

I will not be making any comments it's down to each individual how they feel working for a company as everyone's opinion is different so you will need to make you own decisions

Nice people, slow pace
Marketing Executive (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 24 September 2019
Although the people and work/life balance at Totaljobs are good, the pace of work is very slow and my personal experience with managers on my team was not good. Very specific ways of working for those who have been there a long time with little explanation of how to actually achieve this.

Fun, but in effective.
Head of Talent Development (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 10 September 2019
I was brought on the challenge the leadership team and to "shake things up". They didn't like this. What they wanted was a mouth piece to announce policies I didn't like this.

Great place to work but your, career is not base on your efforts but who you know!
Test Analyst (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 26 March 2018
It's an ok place to work, some very nice people, but progress is not very good and has a laddish culture. People find it hard to, relate to Managers, as it is a who you know/get on with the environment that allows you to prosper there.
Pros
Relaxed, and fun place to work
Cons
Middle management are fickle, At times do not take responsibility for their actions, If you do drink and go out then you want fit in!

Overall a great company
Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner (Former Employee) - London Bridge Station, Greater London - 16 January 2018
Wonderful work life balance. Some management managed with complete and erratic behaviour which overall made for an unhappy work experience. Apart from a particular individual, the wider business and management were wonderful.

Totaljobs
Senior Account Manager (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 20 March 2017
They are a very much a 9 till 5 business with no pressure to work longer hours (unless its the last day of the month and the business are chasing targets).
The business is great to work for because of the employees, there is a big family culture within totaljobs.com.
Pros
29 days annual leave per annum
Cons
many commission changes

Fun interesting work
Product manager (Current Employee) - London - 15 December 2016
I really enjoy working here - the challenges are fun, the colleagues are fun. It is a 9-5 culture, with flexible working and lots of annual leave, so its a good employer.
The hardest part of the job is the work - some of the problems we work to solve are really tricky, which is also the most enjoyable part (I like a challenge).
The blue fin office is pretty awesome - modern and well equipped, and with amazing views of the london skyline (its near tate modern, and lots of food places).
Nice co-workers, interesting work. Recommended.
