Used to be a lovely place to work
Bus Driver (Current Employee) - East London - 3 July 2021
Was a really nice place a few years back. Now they are losing routes left right and centre. People who have worked there 20 years plus being made redundant due to the owners not willing to spend money to compete with other Bus companies therefore routes not being won or being lost. Top tier management needs a complete overhaul. The 2 current depot managers are nice and will help you if you have a problem. 2 staff managers just want to cause you problems. Counter staff are lovely.
Pros
Paid breaks, plenty of space to park, nice colleagues, nice canteen
Cons
2 staff managers, some duties are horrible

Bus Driver Transport (Former Employee) - Layton / Westbourne park - 24 April 2021
Bus driving is great to me. You get to see so much different places and you meet so many different people. It's an amazing job. I learnt at least 5 different bus routes. It for me is an amazing experience. Tower Transit supported my from the first moment I started. I found out I had to work long house to make my money, weekly pay is great.
Pros
Weekly pay, you get a uniform. People are will to help.
Cons
Can't think of none now

It is a good working environment
Bus driver Tower Transit Westbourne (Current Employee) - Westbourne - 18 February 2021
I think that all bus drivers should get paid the same as train drivers- because the road has changed a great deal there are a lot of hazards on the road these days, and more cars then before so their is a lot of work cut out for bus drivers.

Difficult to make management understand working problems.
DRIVER (Current Employee) - Lea Interchange - 7 April 2020
After recruiting staff managers from outside of the industry, it can be frustrating trying to explain an everyday problem when these managers have NEVER driven a bus in public service. TT had plenty of good candidates they could have promoted to this level of management but chose not to do so. I am not saying that these managers are not approachable, (they usually are) and the manner in which they handle problems is professional and polite, but often they fail to understand the everyday problems the average driver has to face.
There is also a VERY noticable lack of female & ethnic minority managers (Important when operating a business with a large ethnic minority workforce).

Good place to work.
Bus Driver (Former Employee) - Leyton mills,Leyton, London - 14 January 2020
You never know what is going on from day to day, you learn from what has gone on through out of the day,
The staff are very helpful, and will help you if they can.
There are a wide range of different cultures, and every one get's on and helps each other, if they can.
The hardest is when you don't know what to expect.
The most enjoyable is when you can have a laugh, and help if you can.
Pros
Good canteen, Having a laugh with your work colleges
Cons
can be long hours especally at weekends

Poor Management
Bus Driver (Former Employee) - Leyton, Greater London - 21 July 2019
Money isn't the best in the industry.
Any reason to punish drivers.
zero support when you complaint.
But when someone complaints they'll call you in the office even if the complaint is 6months old.
No rewards.
No work life balance.
Getting turn is almost impossible.
No career advancement. Unless you are good licker
They have zero driver retention. Almost all the new drivers leave as soon as they can.
Pros
Hardly any
Cons
Poor management, drivers constantly under pressure. Wouldn't turn you no matter what.
