Great place to work
UKRI is a great place to work. Everyone is really friendly and happy to help. Hybrid working is available.Lots of opportunities to move around the organisation if you want to experience different areas of the business.

It's a sad place to be
Gov are happy to provide lots of money for capital projects but no money for pay and so everyone is leaving.Trying to spend capital budget without competent colleagues is really draining, so the decline continues.
Senior Scientist in Harwell, Oxfordshire

Don't bother
Underpaid, overworked, highly bureaucratic, no pay progression, limited career development. Old school mentality. There are pros, but they are outweighed by the negatives.
Administrator in Edinburgh

Good work/life balance
Generous annual leave/public holiday days, lots of support for mental health & job security, especially throughout the pandemic. Not much of a chance for progression unless you work in the scientific field.
