Not great
Driver (Current Employee) - Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire - 8 June 2023
Not a great job, money is rubbish, hours extremely long. After expenses you won't be saving much. Better of looking elsewhere for a job rather than this.

Work on your own terms
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 28 May 2023
Working as an Uber driver can be a rewarding experience for those who enjoy driving and meeting new people. As an Uber driver, you have the flexibility to work when it suits you, and you are in control of your own schedule. Additionally, you have the opportunity to earn money by simply driving your own car. One of the advantages of working as an Uber driver is the ease of joining the platform. The sign-up process is straightforward and can be completed online. Once you are approved, you can start accepting ride requests immediately. As an Uber driver, you will have the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people from all walks of life. This can be an interesting and enjoyable aspect of the job, as you will have the chance to learn about different cultures and perspectives. Additionally, you may be able to make connections with passengers that could lead to future business opportunities. However, there are also some challenges associated with working as an Uber driver. One of the biggest challenges is the unpredictable nature of the job. You never know when you will receive a ride request, and there may be times when you are waiting for long periods without any requests. Additionally, you may encounter difficult passengers who are rude or demanding. Another potential challenge is the wear and tear on your vehicle. As an Uber driver, you will be putting a lot of miles on your car, which can lead to increased maintenance costs. You will also need to ensure that your car is in good condition and meets Uber's standards for safety and cleanliness. Overall, working -

Avoid if you can
Driver (Current Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 26 May 2023
Good money on paper but once you take all your expenses into account it’s not a good job anymore Get your own hybrid (don’t rent) if you would like to offset your costs a little bit, I’d also get a main job and do Uber on the side.

The WORST Job in the UK
SELF-EMPLOYED UBER COURIER/DELIVERY (Former Employee) - Bradford - 17 May 2023
This is a very poor/low company. You will find out why. Can make more money begging on streets thats how low their pay is. The work system is designer to keep you poor and struggling. Overcrowed with drivers who are willing to do more work than toy for less
Pros
None
Cons
Life haulting

Paid peanuts
Private Hire Taxi Driver (Current Employee) - Sheffield - 16 May 2023
My advice to anyone thinking of working for uber is to reconsider. They pay you next to nothing after taking a big chunk of 40% off your earnings. You are just another driver to them they don't care for their drivers . By all means work for a local cab company where you are atleast appreciated.
Pros
Time flexibility
Cons
Pay is low

Customer service
A client had an accident in my car and left not really nice odour of vomit. I contacted support, tried to clean it on my self, because none of the service was open. Wait few hours then I tried to work again ,unsuccessfully… Odour was still there,so I had to go home, first thing on next day was professional cleaning ,sent receipt to Uber and they decided to not pay me for it.I’m not happy about Uber customer service at all.

All i want to say its hassle free work in all kinds of jobs What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Smooth and the kore you work the kore you learn as youre meeting different people every single day. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Its all up2you. Money is all what make you happy. Earn more and be happy

Not worth it anymore
Driver (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 29 March 2023
With raising fuel costs and the LTN's all across London the pay you get per trip is not worth it. Fuel + finance + insurance + maintenance + tax + other expenses = no money left for your self after doing 60 hour weeks

Good side gig
Private Hire Driver (Former Employee) - Coventry, West Midlands - 27 March 2023
Good side gig if you already have a car and wish to utilise it, wouldn’t recommend it for full-time income (too many drivers = too much competition).

Greedy company
Taxi Driver (Current Employee) - Liverpool - 26 March 2023
Was good at one time, good earnings, good jobs. Now the greed has taken over, lucky to earn minimum wage now. Driver support is also very much lacking.
Pros
Own hours
Cons
Long hours

Don’t fall for the nonsense
Driver (Former Employee) - North West - 20 March 2023
Every few months it gets worse. Pay the driver receives is nothing short of shambolic. Don’t fall for the minimum wage lie. It’s guaranteed minimum wage whilst on a job. Sit around for 3 hours on an 8 hour shift you get nothing. Cost of keeping a private hire vehicle on the road is approximately 18k a year. Iv left Uber. Pay is poor. Most trips pay under £1 per mile. It’s terrible. Even weekends are becoming very poor. You’ll have to sit in the car for about 70 hours to get about £600 then allow for fuel, tax, licensing, car maintenance, insurance. It’s poor. Don’t bother.
Pros
Pick your own hours
Cons
70 hours for £400 after exspenses.

It’s ok
Driver (part time) (Former Employee) - Huddersfield, West Yorkshire - 14 March 2023
The Uber driver job is really fun and easy to do, the best part is you get to pick your hours and can start whenever. The worst thing would be the pay isn’t very good unless it’s very busy.
Pros
Own hours, tips, fun
Cons
Low pay, long waiting times

Low pay/ no support
Driver (Current Employee) - Great Yarmouth, Norfolk - 14 March 2023
Very low pay, no support when things go wrong. Too much time wasted waiting around at restaurants like McDonald’s… makes it difficult to do more than a couple of jobs an hour if your lucky @£3 to £4 a job.

Uber self employed work does not mean it’s a fun job. It has to be one of the worst job out there. However the flexibility of work and life balance is good
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
Low fee
