It's ok
Uber Driver (Former Employee) - London - 9 October 2023
Hmm, where to begin. Working as an uber driver is an experience. The pros: work whenever you want , make a lot money, holiday pay. The cons (and there are a lot): firstly driving in London is stressful as it is. You have fines, parking, pcns , ltns , bus lanes, speed cameras. Then you have the risk of being banned via customer complaints or by local authorities. Advice: if you want to make a lot of money whenever you want while coping with stress, then this is idea job. Otherwise it's not for you .

London Sales Management: Bullying culture
Sales (Former Employee) - Aldgate tower - 6 October 2023
Avoid this company at all costs. If I could give zero stars I would. Sales management are bullies and caused huge amounts of stress. No trust between yourself and managers. The job is easy- the management are some of the worst people I have ever been unfortunate enough to be around. Management are manipulative and sneaky- do not trust them. The company employ external staff so that when they inevitably get rid of them, they have no rights. Biggest turnover in staff I had ever seen. I was on holiday and they sacked 6 people. A further two people were sacked in subsequent weeks. Not worth the time or stress I guarantee you are worth more.

Decent work
Driver (Former Employee) - Ilford - 7 September 2023
Pick your own time and places to work. One downside is you are using your own vehicle and any wear and tear will come out of your pocked (obviously), get a car that lasts.

Drive when you want
Driver (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 2 September 2023
Used to be very good, nowadays its not busy at all and making £100 a day feels impossible to do. Looking at all other costs involved in self employment eg car maintenance, tfl licences, insurance, accountant fees, its a must that you earn at least £150 a day.
Pros
Work when you want
Cons
If its not busy, you will be hours without any jobs

Best taxi/private hire company
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 3 August 2023
Please join Uber and work like 9 to 5 job. It is the best company try it today. I am working with Uber for nearly 7 years and enjoyed every moment of it. Uber is not an ordinary taxi company, it is a very special company.

Alright
Driver (Former Employee) - Canning Town Station - 11 July 2023
Wasn’t bad at all I wouldn’t say it’s the best as the waiting times to get the order is long, other than that it’s alright, they don’t send you too far when you have a bike and you get to take the money you earned the same day which is a very good benefit

Not the best
Driver (Current Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 8 July 2023
Could be so much better, but it's not. I used to be fairly happy when I first started. Lately nothing works the way it's meant to work so yeah.. not great. Getting half the money your rider pays.

Too many drivers and Uber take too much commission
Private Hire Driver (Former Employee) - Leeds - 26 May 2023
Uber keep taking on lots of drivers and take 25 percent of every fare, also do f really advise where to position yourself. Also they tend to always agree with the passengers ratings over the drivers. However very good fares when booking demand is high
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
Take too much commission

Exchange your time for pennies
Uber Driver (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 24 May 2023
Long hours to make decent money to pay your bills absolutely no money left to do anything. It’s a scam because most people don’t calculate expenses properly and end up paying too much for the car or taxes at the end.

Uber eat is off in Manchester
Delivery driver (Current Employee) - Manchester - 10 May 2023
It's very demanding, I worked for 10 hours a day and just get half of the minimum wage! They should think about this situation! I try to find another job

Modern day slavery
They take up to 50% in commission sometimes. Long hours no idea how the algorithm works, they play with prices as they like, no respect for the drivers, I really do not have nothing good to say.

Not enough money, long hours and to many drivers, way to many!
Taxi Driver (Current Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 24 April 2023
It used to be good, honestly I've had to get a second job working 5 days a week. I only do this as a part time business. It's really dead these days, your waiting around for a job over an hour. You go out at peak times and your just stuck in traffic, in 4 or 5 hours your lucky making 40 quid. Main reason is, TOO MANY UBER DRIVERS, I won't recommend doing this as a full time job. The wear and tear, petrol, insurance, all the council fees yearly, Mot etc, your not left with much. My employed job has kept me going, with uber i would have been homeless. (you think I'm joking?) I wish I was joking, I won't have been able to pay my mortgage.
Cons
Too many drivers, long hours, costs.

Stressfull/ no future/you will get sick and lost
Driver (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 18 April 2023
Uber is a company, that makes drivers sick and miserable .marketing tool to say it is flexible is 'Bulshit' you pay the price before you start and the end of the journey of your life without any progress, as I am now, without a Job and productive experience past 7 YEARS in this useless platform, Anyone who thinks it's a Nice Job, Then it's your Life starts to End without any doubts and put your Family and WELFARE in A DITCH, it's Because NO GUARANTEE TO YOUR EARNINGS AND FUTURE.Uber is using people/drivers as a tool to make money for them NOT FOR Driver's welfare .in my Own experience am sharing this please don't get caught in this Gig Trap Not only by Uber, All Other App based Self-employment, Who Uses You but to Build billions of out of your sweat and tears. Say NO ........... Now' otherwise Uber will Say No to your future.......
