Really great and supportive management

I was in stakeholder strategy and management and the team's management was really great and supportive, DEFRA is a group of extremely sweet people that I felt truly cared about me and making sure that I was doing well. The flexibility with working at home was really great, and everyone was very enthusiastic and seemed genuinely passionate about what they were doing.

Great place to work but can be very stressful

This was a great job within a niche department of the civil service. Very indepth training and on boarding process. Diverse team who are always happy to help and great wellbeing and staff recognition practices.

Pros

Bank Holidays and extra 'privilege day'

Cons

Management are very inpersonable

Underrated

nice people, relaxed, strong public service ethos, competent people. Pay is a bit below market rate but non pay benefits are strong. Depends on your life stage.
