Great place to work!
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Remote - 21 May 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI've been working at Union Insurance for over a year now, the staff are amazing to work with and so lovely! It's a guarantee that you will get along with everyone. I have learnt so much and I didn't come from a sales background but that wasn't an issue. The hours are fair (11am-6:30pm) and working from home is a bonus! On the back of that, the bonuses definitely help your pay when you have a good sales month! I suffer with mental health and the staff have always been very supportive and accomodating wirh me. The only thing I personally would change is having a staff meeting maybe in the middle of the day to break it up a bit, as it can feel very monotonous and repetitive.
Pros
Lovely people to work with, paid fairly
Cons
Day can be quite repetitive

Friendly and supportive company
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Work from home - 5 December 2022
Even though I work from home, I always feel part of the team and never feel alone. Management are always there to support you and genuinely care about you and your success. There's never any pressure to work beyond your hours, no weekend work and great social vibe here. The job itself is repetitive but that doesn't mean it's not challenging, and management are always there to support you, help you become successful and keep you motivated.
Pros
Great work/Life balance, very supportive team and management
Cons
The job itself is repetitive and boring

Very supportive workplace and culture
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Work from home - 5 September 2022
Having never done any work in insurance or sales, the training provided was amazing, very thorough and done in a small group, giving everyone a chance to ask questions and we were all encouraged to speak with each other to get the best out of the sessions. Once I was placed in my team, I was welcomed by a great supportive team of people and manager. This really was a true demonstration of the culture within the entire business. A typical day at work consists of a team brief in the morning, were we have refreshers on important info, targets and performance, but most importantly, it sets you in a good mood, ready for the day ahead. As an outbound dialing team, the role can be repetitive but all sessions are less than 2 hours long, with breaks and lunch giving you time to come away and reset. The managers and team leaders are only ever a message away if I need support or guidance, and as mentioned earlier, the team are always on hand too, to offer advice and support. It really is a lovely to place work, and coming from retail environment where shift work was normal, the work life balance and the hours I now work, are a breath of fresh air.

Positive and supportive workplace with a great work/life balance
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Remote - 30 June 2022
Despite working remotely, there is a fabulous camaraderie across the team and a great culture that spreads from Head Office. You definitely are not losing anything from being at home. The job does have it's challenges and you do learn a lot about yourself quickly. Everyday is a fresh challenge and unless you're willing to embrace it, you will find it difficult. The most enjoyable part of the job for me is the buzz you get from successfully helping a customer and also the recognition you get from the rest of the team. While I've only been with the company a few months, I've learnt skills that are helping me succeed and I'm now taking into my everyday life at home. Most companies will claim to care about their employees but with Union Insurances Services, they genuinely do. The managers are always there, whether it's a work or home crisis that you're having. The support you receive is unwavering. The best company that I've worked for by a mile.

Very positive and supportive network
Family protection consultant (Current Employee) - Remote - 20 June 2022
I absolutely love my job here as a family protection consultant. I work from home full time but never feel alone! Every morning you have a quick 10-15min team meeting to see all the friendly faces and have a chat about the day ahead. It is a pleasure to be part of such a supportive network - everyone loves to help and you feel confident approaching higher up team members if you need to! The targets are achievable, and if you are falling behind then the support is there to guide you to improve. Hard work is always recognised and appreciated! We also have monthly awards where you can win some amazing prizes!! The only downfall others might think is that the job can be repetitive - but in my eyes this is not a negative. Every call is different. I love chatting to people and love helping others. You are never expected to work weekends or stay on late of an evening. I have only been here a few months but I’m very settled and feel lucky to have such a great job with so many perks! You really are appreciated here and hard work is noticed. 5 stars from me all the way!!

family protection consultant (Current Employee) - remote working - 26 April 2022
Although I work from home (which is for amazing work/life balance) you are never alone, you have always got your team and management to keep you going and make sure you are reaching your full potential and having a nice time at work. Hard work is always recognized, and there is the option to progress through the company should you want to. There is personal and team targets but they are fair and doable and everyone always spurs you on if you aren't having the best day. The Management is really approachable and easy to speak to and would support you if you had any issues and is always there for questions. It can be repetitive, but the benefits like the working hours, nice colleagues, working form home and all the support you get definitely outweighs that.
Pros
working hours, working from home is definitely a massive benefit, options the learn new skills within the company.
Cons
it can be repetitive but every call is different.

Extremely Supportive Work Environment
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Work from home - 17 February 2022
A typical day in the work place consists of a morning meeting with your team. Your day is then split in to 4 x 1 hour 30 minute sessions from 11-6.30pm, where you're dialing out speaking to customers setting up a free insurance product and then pitching a paid product. Throughout this time you have a 30 minute lunch and 2 x 15 minute breaks. The personal support you receive through your team manager is un matched. And although you are working from home you still feel so part of the team.
Pros
The work life balance is phenomenal, late morning starts and no weekends, the support you receive from you managers and work colleagues is so encouraging, the work incentives and bonus scheme keeps you motivated.
Cons
The Dialing sessions can seem repetitive however, having targets and goals allows you to stay motivated

Motivating and supportive place to work
Sales Advisor (Current Employee) - Home Based - 14 January 2022
A typical day at work would be 11am start with a 15 minute team brief. We all have a chat and we sometimes do quizzes. We also go through the plan and targets for the day. The day is split into 4 mini shifts of 1 1/2 hours with 2 x 15 min breaks and 30 min lunch. This is great as it breaks the day up really well. 6.30pm finish. It's a great place to work and everyone is welcoming and helpful. You're also kept informed of the companies plans and everyone is honest and open. Bonus scheme keeps everyone motivated. All in all this is a great place to work, with the added bonus of remote working!
Pros
Unlimited support from team leaders and experienced colleagues, Constructive and logical feedback which helps you to reach more sales!, Great bonus and incentives which keeps everyone motivated, In-depth initial training which makes you feel very prepared to start, Fun social events where you can go to London for the day/night, Home-working which suits my lifestyle
Cons
The only con would be that the role could be seen as repetitive but with lots of team meetings, training and other activities, the day is broken up really well.

Best job I've had so far
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Remote - 14 January 2022
This is a really great place to work. The support and training you receive is incredible, and even when the early stages of training are finished your development constantly continues. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming, and though I'm working remotely I still feel like I'm part of a team. The job mainly consists of outbound calling customers who have signed up for a free cover and upselling them, but there is no cold calling or pressure selling whatsoever so you can be comfortable that everything is completely ethical. The working hours are great as well as the pay, and the incentives and bonuses are definitely an added benefit.
Pros
Good work life balance, lots of incentives and a supportive atmosphere with lots of room for development.
Cons
Has the potential to be slightly monotonous work, but this is mitigated by having sales targets and long term goals to strive for, and every call ends up being different anyway.

Productive, Fun, Challenging
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 14 January 2022
I've been working for union insurance since October 2021 and so far it's been my favourite job. Having a good work/life balance is important for the company and working from 11-6:30 Mon-Fri makes that very easy. The management have all been really accommodating and understanding because you will most likely have a few IT issues working from home and they take their duty of care for you seriously. We have daily team catch ups and a weekly meeting with our manager to check in and see how we're all doing so even though we're not in an office, we all still feel like a team so you're not missing out on workplace culture. The hardest part of the job is the repetitive nature, however since you're speaking to the general public every conversation will be unique.
Pros
Working from home. Good salary, uncapped bonus potential. Opportunities to progress and develop new skills
Cons
Repetitive

Friendly, fun workplace good bonuses
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - WFH - 14 January 2022
I’ve been working here for a few months and so far only have positive things to say about the job and company! The management/team leaders are exceptionally supportive and the company ensures you’re properly trained to get the best out of you! The hours ensure that there is a good work to life balance (11-6:30) and there’s no weekends so you don’t end up taking your work home with you. Even though I work from home, the company successfully manages to ensure that it doesn’t feel that way and you feel included in the team spirit maintaining a social element to the job! The bonuses are well paid and the company is quite flexible with holidays and personal issues. Although like all jobs some aspects of the job can be difficult, all employees are extremely friendly and supportive and help you to push past the difficult parts and enjoy your job day to day. Overall, I would fully recommend this job to anyone - good hours, good money, good people!
Pros
Hours, pay, environment

Flexible, supportive workplace
Sales Advisor (Current Employee) - Remote - 23 July 2021
I have worked at Union Insurance Services for a couple of months and I'm a remote sales advisor and really enjoy my role. The company is very flexible with holiday requests and allowing us to work remotely which has been a huge benefit as well as the hours 11am to 6:30pm which allows for a great work life balance. Although I work remotely I still feel a great sense of team spirit and the role is very sociable as all of the other staff are very supportive and we have regular zoom meetings to catch up daily. The company give thorough training for over a week before you even begin to make phone calls and the support from management continues for months even after the training. The culture is amazing at the company and the management are very approachable and supportive with both work and personal issues. The best part of the job is being able to speak to a variety of people and arranging cover for them that they may not have been able to do otherwise as well as being able to earn bonuses. The most challenging part of the role is that it can be quite repetitive but the management set various challenges daily to overcome this.
Pros
Flexibility, Bonuses, Support
Cons
None

Fun, Supportive Workplace
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Remote - 16 June 2021
I joined Union Insurance a few months ago, and I am really happy with the company and job role so far. It's a very fun, relaxed, sociable work environment, which is really nice since my role is full-time remote. As part of the sales department, the job involves calling customers who have applied for one of our products, explaining the policies and selling additional cover. There is no cold calling or pressure selling at all, and the company is very careful to make sure that all our sales are compliant and that customers are always happy. Best parts of this job are the work-life balance - we work 11-6.30 which is amazing - and they are very relaxed around holidays and time off. Also, the management culture is very relaxed, approachable and hands-on, you always feel like you are getting lots of support and guidance. The team are also a great source of advice and encouragement, so even if you have a slow day they are always lifting your spirits. Hardest part of the job is being on the phone all day - It's really important to stay focused which can be tiring. However, the bonuses for making sales are fantastic so there is always loads to motivate you to succeed.
Pros
Company culture, friendly management, relaxed environment, working hours, bonus

Supportive, great training, great culture
Sales Advisor (Current Employee) - remote - 15 April 2021
I have worked for Union insurance for around 2 years now. Firstly the hours are great this is a Monday to Friday job 11am-630pm so for work life balance its perfect. I am loving working from home, the culture that the management team have created is excellent. Although working from home i dont feel alone, i have the support of all my colleagues and managers. We have daily meetings on zoom. My manager is always on hand to help and guide me. This is a sales job so there are targets to hit but its not pressure sales. Best thing is its not cold calling so most of the customers know we are going to call them. You do need to be resilient though and there is alot to learn but if you're willing to work hard and listen then you will do really well. The training you get from the start is great, they really do go through everything with you. Training and learning never really stops, there is always something to work on and develop and aim for. I love targets so this job has been perfect for me and the rewards are fab.
Pros
Work life balance. Great hours, great bonus structure. Supportive management team.
Cons
Can be tedious at times as you are reading the same script over and over again, that said it works and give a great structure to the calls.

Excellent company with fun and engaging work environment.
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Kentish Town - 18 March 2021
I have been working for Union Insurance for over a year now and they have been amazing. I started with a week of thorough training and felt fully prepared to start the job. Management is great with guiding you by constantly providing feedback, 1-2-1's and goals and targets so you always know what you are working towards. The staff and in office environment made it such a fun place to work. Since COVID I have been working remotely and the job has been completely adapted to allow for this being able to work from the comfort of home whilst still engaging with colleges everyday virtually has made it still feel like the big team energy we felt in the office. Overall a great place to work and would recommend to anyone.

Flexible hours and a great work environment
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Kentish Town, Greater London - 10 March 2021
I’ve worked at Union Insurance Services for over a year now, and it is a brilliant place to work. One of the main benefits for me is how flexible the hours are. I’m also a performer so can often be called in for auditions/ castings last minute. Management has always been fully supportive of my other job and will always work to reschedule my hours to accommodate my time. The training process is actually quite fun and they teach you everything you need to know without you having to do loads of extra work yourself. The pay is extremely competitive, with incentives/ bonuses that can increase it further.
Pros
Friendly colleagues
Cons
Can sometimes be a little monotonous

Great company to work for!
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Kentish Town - 4 February 2021
Once starting at Union Insurance Services, the training was great as it allowed me to get to grips with everything involved with the job but also made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I have been with the company for just over a year now and it has been great for me as I also work as a freelance dancer, so having the flexibility is perfect! There is always a great atmosphere in the office and any time you have a question or feel like you are struggling with anything, management are great with ensuring you get everything you need

An amazing company
Sales Agent (Current Employee) - Kentish Town, Greater London - 4 February 2021
I have been here for over a year now, and I can't even begin to explain the level of support I have received from this Company and my manager. This company is extremely understanding of any challenges you face. I struggled with sales to start with, but I found as long as you put in the work, you will thrive, and you will have their continued support. It is such a fun environment with so many perks. During this pandemic, the company have made sure we are all working from home comfortably, with constant flexibility whilst keeping that fun and uplifting energy from the team and management. The effort this company has made to make remote working successful, is above and beyond, and it really shows. With the constant support of buzz sessions each morning to check in with the whole team, fun and interactive team meetings and awards, and 1-1's every other week ( which I have to mention - management make a genuine effort to see how we are inside and outside of work, and has supported us with our mental health during this pandemic) It's just an all round amazing place to work. The work is flexible which is perfect for me. And on top of all this, the benefits are just amazing. I am just so grateful to be working here and cannot recommend enough.
Pros
Constant support, amazing benefits, remote working
Cons

A company that supports and want you to excel
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Work from home - 7 January 2021
I have worked at UIB for almost 2 years; I started off working in the office where I was trained to the best standard. The company helped me build my sales technique whilst encouraging me to improve and want to be better. The management team are amazing, I cannot fault the approach to their staff. They genuinely care about each member of the team and check in on us individually. The company has been so incredibly supportive throughout this year. I am now Working From Home for the company and they made the transition from office to home seamless. They gave me extra support while I settled into my new surroundings and guided me along the way. We have regular check in’s on Zoom individually and as a group where we encourage and support each other to be the best that we can be. I am so grateful to work for UIB and all of the support management have given me. I could not recommend the company/job enough!
Pros
Work From Home, amazing management, fun incentives
Cons
No cons!

Great place to work
Family Protection Consultant (Current Employee) - Wakefield, West Yorkshire - 7 January 2021
Great place to work. It has a family feel to the company and everyone counts. Especially with the current circumstances, work has been a dream and unbelievably helpful at such a difficult time. The managers are very supportive and everyone is very approachable, including the sales director. everyone is helpful. They have monthly awards and the recognition is unbelievable at every position. I genuinely enjoy coming to work on a daily basis and from my personal experience this is a dream job. A usual day would be to come into work, have a team meeting and discuss previous days, what is working well and what we can do as a team to help each other. I've personally learnt a lot of about myself and learnt that companies do have support if you need it. They are very flexible and are willing to help. The culture of the workplace is very friendly and everyone is welcomed with open arms. The hardest part of the job can be how repetitive it can be but this is overcome by different challenges that are put in place to help overcome this.
Pros
Great Benefits and flexible
Cons
Can be repetative

A Company that supports you
Sales Agent (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 14 December 2020
Personally I think Union Insurance Services is a fantastic company to work for, the support during the pandemic has been brilliant and the effort put into making remote working successful has been a lifesaver. I now work from home and can say I thoroughly enjoy the experience, the job is the same, the colleague support is better than ever, and it's all from the comfort of my own home. This company is extremely understanding of any challenges you may face and personally I have found they will do what they can to support you, with regular 1 - 2 -1's to check in. They take a genuine interest in your life in and out of work.
