Alright
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 17 November 2023
The demand is high but I found they worked us pretty hard compared to what we were being paid. But the discounts are good and you can get access to sale products

worse Hr payroll
Visual Merchandiser (Current Employee) - London - 12 October 2023
Since I started to work for this company I always had payments mistakes on my payslips, the system doesn't work as it should. The company has the worse Hr payroll! I felt really frustrated about it. Suggestions? if you want to work for a serious retail company this is not the right one!

None

Overworked in a toxic environment
Customer Sales Advisor (Former Employee) - Angel - 9 October 2023
Working at the Angel branch was a nightmare. Toxic management team was a literal nightmare that only trains their favorites, if you're not one of them get ready to be placed in the messiest area of the shop floor folding for 8-10hours straight. They're also always short-staffed so get ready to tidy a whole section of the store by yourself while management does nothing besides say you're slow. You will not be trained on tills because that is for higher level staff. UNIQLO prides itself on "giving the opportunity to advance in your career every 3 months" but what they don't say is that you need your manager's approval to do the online test, so if they don't like you, you'll be there for a year without any hope, just folding brainlessly while managers say it's not good enough. Their training is a joke. "This is how you fold a long-sleeved shirt using your own body, of course you can't use the table!" and off you go, that's it. You don't know what the A side of the fixture near the wall of the side entrance is? FAILURE, even if we didn't explain it to you! They don't care if you are sick, if you have uni, etc, so beware. And you need to check your payslip every month because it's full of errors too and then you need to contact their HR over and over again.
Pros
Better pay than other retailers
Cons
Toxic management, toxic environment, long hours, no progress, no training

Fun yet challenging
Customer Advisor (Former Employee) - 113 Oxford street - 27 September 2023
You get trained for around an hour before they take you down to the shop floor, which I guess has both pros and cons as you’re tackling it head on but the pressure can be a lot. They have minimal care for any other commitments you may have, so students be wary. Staff room and stock is full of dust. The customers are usually lovely though and the general staff on the floor are always polite.

Fast Fun Workplace
Retail Assistant (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 12 September 2023
Quite demanding due to its fast paced and micro management environment, however everyone is nice and bubbly. Management requires you to show initiative if you want to be on they’re good books.

Productive and good environment
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 11 September 2023
Easy to be promoted. Friendly management and coworkers. I like to work there, they offer some bonuses. It might be difficult in Nov-Dec time as it’s busy.

Nightmarish
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 1 September 2023
- Terrible place to work for work/life balance. - No consideration for Staff well-being - Payment issues were a reoccurring issue - Promotions based on popularity, migration issues or diversity needs, not efficiency of the job - Weekly Rota’s are released later towards the week/last minute - Poor and unhygienic back of house conditions - Made to feel Guilty or interrogated if an emergency comes up and unable to work. - Very little leniency on Flexible working

Stressful, unpredictable and unbearable
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 20 August 2023
The worst company I’ve ever worked for. Blatant favouritism, poor management and toxic working environment. Not just my location this is a company wide issue. They will work you like a dog and you will work an extra 7 hours a week against your will.

Great place to work
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 20 August 2023
Team are friendly and helpful. All lovely to work with. However work can sometimes be draining as tasks are meticulous and repetitive. Good introductory job for retail work.

Favouritism

The work place is okay and the pay is decent however the work place consist of very obvious favouritism and they also expect you to make the job your top priority in life

Friendly colleagues with supportive management
Customer advisor (Current Employee) - Covent Garden, Greater London - 27 July 2023
Most of the colleagues are friendly and helpful , even the supervisors / managers are always reaching out for all the colleagues. However , occasionally , quite messy in the communications and the standard of works. Have to clarify them proactively.

Unsocial hours and strict policies
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Regents Street - 25 July 2023
Unsocial hours and strict policies. Not sure why retail companies try to make believe sales assistant that they are changing the world when all they are doing is folding a t shirt.

fun but long
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - High Street Kensington Station - 24 July 2023
it’s good. but it’s long hours as you need to clean the shop floor. it’s okay if you live nearby. the pay is decent. if you’re looking for experience working for a big retail company, it’s good. 30% employee is decent and makes shopping there better.

Depends on location.
Sales Associate (Full-time) (Former Employee) - Kingston upon Thames, Greater London - 9 July 2023
If I take a step back to think about it, at least Uniqlo gives people an opportunity to have hours they never asked for and a paycheck at the end of the month that is stable.
Pros
None. 1 hour unpaid break?
Cons
Co-worker can get away with inappropriate touching because they are old.
