What is the team like at UPSU?

What kind of people work at UPSU? All kinds! We are a small team of professionals from a range of backgrounds (including ex-students!). It’s our job to provide amazing activities and services on behalf of students. Our leadership team also comprises of five elected students (Sabbatical Officers) who are employed full-time for year to represent all Portsmouth students and guide the Union’s work. As an independent charity, we are separate from the University and work to represent the views over over 25,000 students. We have a vision of creating a positive impact with every Portsmouth student during their time at University.

The University of Portsmouth Students’ Union (The Union or UPSU for short) has a vision of creating a positive impact with every Portsmouth student during their time at University. We are an independent charity led by our values and guided by our students, we do this by providing wide-ranging services and learner support to over 25,000 students of the University of Portsmouth. The Union is based in the centre of Portsmouth and turns over £1.5M per annum, employing approximately 60 staff.
