good place and people

Good place (Current Employee) - Reading, Berkshire - 26 June 2023

been working there for 2 months and everyone has been good. the salary was almost the same market rate for an IT admin. pension is exceptionally good @ 22%. However, buildings and work building is poor with a lack of facilities and also need of decoration. The role seemed slightly pigeon-holed hope this changes soon.

Worked as a notetaker for a year, it is a good job to get some extra money during uni without committing too much time on a part time job.Job was not too stressful, you are like a normal student

Great place to work

Fantastic place to work and lots of opportunities to learn. You get the chance to work on a green campus which has big grounds and a lake. There is an international food market every week during term time.

Good for a job but not a career

Teaching and Research Technician (Current Employee) - Reading - 25 January 2023

The university is a good employer to work for if you want to (at least in my area) work with nice colleagues and meet interesting people. Management mostly leave you alone to get on with the job, so a lot of self task allocation.The career progression however is almost non existent. If you want to advance you have to apply internally for other roles. If you're just starting out in the world of work and want some learning opportunities (on subjects/ equipment etc) or just want a job to have money coming in go for it.
