What would you suggest Utilita management do to prevent others from leaving?

  • I would suggest that they take employees health problems seriously especially mental health. I worked at Utilita for over 2 years and developed serious mental health problems due to stress caused by the job and other personal reasons. I spoke with my line manager about my problems and he was very supportive. However he was unable to offer me any meaningful support. The company refused to take my issues seriously, I got the impression that they would only take my issues seriously if I tried to kill myself, which fortunately I didn't do.

I eventually decided to hand in my notice and leave, which I think is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I only wish I did it sooner.

To conclude Utilita would find it easier to keep staff if didn't treat people with depression etc with contempt. A bit of kindess and respect would go along way.

PS when you leave Utilita they will send you demands for money if they believe you were overpaid and they will deny that you worked any overtime and refuse to pay that as well.

  • Resign and replace with competent people

  • Look closer at the targets.

  • Value staff.

  • Get a new C.E.O. and new Finance and Operation Directors.
