Gain good experience then move on
Busy fast paced, role. It's a new company ( 2016) and they have yet to put anything together as far as substantial staff training goes. Personally, my development was all trial and error until I started to get it right. I had meetings regarding my progress and was told how my supervisor wanted to me to succeed, but all that seemed to go out the window on the office floor with daily talks where it was clear his patience was rapidly shrinking and he was barely masking it. After a month I was called out on every little mistake I made despite being told numerous times that it would take me at least three months to get a solid grip on things. Culture was by far the worst I encountered. Nearly all the staff were unapproachable and hard to speak to, unless you had something to offer. All the conversations in the office were either about football and rugby. Aside from one or two people, everyone in there pretty much felt the same. You need to have a thick skin for this role as you work with the field agents who aggressively sell terminals and then send the appropriate paperwork for you to process to finalize their deals. The agents are often stressed due to their comission based work and since they are independent contractors there is no-one for them to answer to when they scream down the phone at you. The set backs in processing applications is inevitable due to the lack of training in the administration department and partly due to longtime serving agents who clearly don't check the validity of identification documents they send before rushing to the next job. They seemed to receive the documents they throw it all at the administration department and then act surprised when it can't be progressed. I was ensured even though I was struggling to not worry so much about dismissal, only to literally be told a day later by my supervisor that if I didn't improve we would have to 'part ways'. Confusing signals given during an awful development. Given that I was miserable every shift, there was literally nothing left to keep me there after that.

Do not work here
Honestly one of the worst places I've ever worked. Unprofessional management/HR. Majority of staff shout in the office while on phone. No Air Con. Gobshite of team leaders who think they're better then anyone else. No assistance for new starters just told to crack on with it

Fun workplace with opportunity for internal progression
Since working at UTP I have genuinely enjoyed coming to work everyday. The office atmosphere is amazing and makes me look forward to coming to work. The work load is never too much or too little. I have been allowed to feel confident in my role by the on going support and guidance from the management team. Overall a great place to work and achieve career milestones.

Not enjoyable
The management team will often rewards their favorites in the office, especially if your friendly with them.Very weird office culture in that if you don't hit daily call targets you're in an apprentice-style review with 3 management team members all questioning. I was asked do I want to continue working here. When I said no because of my mental health issues caused by this place there was no follow-up to check on me. Look after yourself and not this company

Great Place To Work
Great atmosphere, good coaching, and friendly staff. Feel valued with work nights out and incentives. I came to the company with 0 sales experience and was given the correct training, now hitting high numbers back-to-back monthly and sitting at the top of the floor stats on regular occasions. Can sometimes seem competitive between tele sellers, but this comes with any sales role.
