Drive your career forward with Veolia

Are you looking for career stability, reliable hours and rewarding work? Veolia has one of the largest fleets in the UK, which continues to grow. Our drivers work as part of a small team, serving local communities and making a positive impact every day.
As a driver at Veolia, we will train you to complete your recycling and waste collection rounds safely and effectively. Your typical day starts and ends at your local depot, where you will pick up any special instructions and check your vehicle. During the course of the day, you’ll work with your crew, managing your own time to complete the work and leave all collection areas clean and tidy. If you have any problems during the round, you will be able to contact the depot for management assistance.
Our drivers meet a very high standard of skill and compliance with driving regulations. As part of our team, you will receive regular training to maintain and enhance your professional ability.
We have part-time or full-time hours available to suit your lifestyle. You will be entitled to generous paid holiday, have access to our people’s pension, and various comprehensive training. Positions available nationwide, visit our careers site to find out more and to apply: www.veolia.co.uk/careers
Experienced HGV drivers: If you are looking to get on the road, we want to hear from you! You will need to have your Category C licence and be driver CPC qualified (but if your CPC has lapsed we can help with that). You will also need great time management and previous driving experience.
Newly qualified drivers: Got your Category C licence but need experience and/or your CPC? Join us and get on the job training and mentoring to get your driving career off to a flying start.
Looking for a new career? If you want to train as a Category C licence HGV driver you can earn while you learn with us.

Inclusion & Diversity

At Veolia, we recognise the importance of attracting and retaining diverse talent to address the skills shortages across the waste, water and energy sector. We’re committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace that helps us create a safe and inclusive culture where all of our people feel valued, respected and can develop.
In February 2021 we launched our new 2-year inclusion strategy that looks into 5 key priorities:
- Attraction & Selection
- Awareness & Upskilling
- Communication
- Customers
- Development
Each priority helps us to ensure we have a diverse and inclusive workforce.
EQUAL - Veolia’s Inclusion and Diversity forum is made up of dedicated colleagues who are helping us drive forward on our inclusion journey, by developing elements of the strategy and gathering insights from our people.
Veolia are very proud to have participated in a number of activities for social mobility, long term unemployment, ex-offenders, ex-armed forces and disability and we were recognised and awarded:
- Gold Standard in the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme for our ongoing support of Armed Forces Personnel.
- Disability Confident Employer by the Disability Confidence Scheme - our ongoing commitment to improving accessibility for our employees with varying abilities.
In addition to this, we have a network of over 150 Mental Health First Aiders to support our colleague's mental health and wellbeing and we are members of Business in the Community.

The Environment

On top of daily operational services in energy, water, recycling and waste treatment we are always working to make our sites sustainable hubs: from looking at renewable energy solutions to power our depots, to adding solar panels and nurturing biodiversity.
The Veolia Environmental Trust dedicates hundreds of thousands of pounds each year to projects across the UK and Ireland which help reduce our climate impact. An example of this is our partnership with The Woodland Trust to help rebuild the Northern Forest. This project aims to plant 50 million trees in a generation.
