Half decent company

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Not the best pay but good training & overtime, decent holiday and sick pay. Managers do what they like though bringing in who they like and don't like you questioning their decisions.

Wellbeing and Mental Health lacking

Worked for Vinci for many years and at the beginning thought they were a great company but perception changed very quickly. Nepotism is alive and thriving. Male orientated environment wanting to surround themselves with brainless barbie dolls.Talk the talk on mental health and wellbeing of staff but it's just lip service. AVOID

Ridiculous amount of work

I thought I’d found a great job. Lovely work colleagues who helped and supported. The job was horrific. I have never had such a huge amount of work which was impossible to get through. It was relentless. So many complaints came in. Hundreds of training requests. Poor management who couldn’t help, despite me begging for help. They said the same things weekly. Like a stuck record. HR In general was toxic too.

Pros

Very nice work colleagues in Academy

Cons

No solutions to the problem from senior management, no help. HR open plan office need to be careful what they say, I heard it all.

What is the best part of working at the company? For me it was the other people that worked in the building. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The manager and how much they expect you to do in a very short time. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Rushed and hard work for the time and money you get.

Great company to work for.

I work as a cleaner for Vinci for the Local council. I hold the keys so I can go in and clean once the office is closed. Your supervisor is only a text or phone call away so you feel supported that way. You have one to one assessments regularly throughout the year. Vinci has lots of benefits for you to help with your well being such as staff training and staff discounts etc.

Pros

Overtime if you can cover other peoples holidays and chance for promotions.

General summary

The work is dull but easy at the cleaning jobs as you can expect. The people are fairly friendly, but the standards are sky high so it can feel like nothing is good enough. You get complaints from the staff and management often even though you've done your job well. At the council it has to be basically perfect all the time which is hard to maintain. It's not too bad there but mostly boring and annoying that you can't be left it & all the micromanaging & excessive health and safety is rediculous.

Great culture

I love working for VINCI. The people are great and I am free to voice my opinion without consequences. I feel valued and taken notice of and taken care of. It takes time to progress but they do make it happen. VINCI is continuously improving all the time.

Pros

Work life balance

Cons

It takes time to progress

Good Company

Been with Vinci for nearly 4 years and can't fault the company. Line manager is avaliable when ever needed. Any issues are resolved in a great manner. Brilliant and friendly clients. Monthly news letters about Vinci and what's happening in the company. Never any issues with pay. Always on time. A really good company with great understanding of each employee certain needs/circumstances. Treated fairly and with respect.

Pros

Left to work without management over looking you, Room for growth within the company, Vinci hub which gives you discount off shops, work pension that vinci also contributes to as well as yourself

Not great

I am sure Vinci as a company are great. However, my experience of it was not the case. The contract I worked on was poorly started, poorly managed, and they didn’t take the feedback well when I told them.

Pros

Vinci are a big company

Career Booster

On a management level, the management at the vinci takes employees careers and safety seriously. They treat their staff very well.Job time is flexible which is good for a student.I learned to give my best and the reward is fantastic.

Excellent company and culture

Joined as an engineer and worked up through supervisor and into account / line / operations management. Have been invested in, trained and developed by a company that really cares about its people. Yes it can be stressful at times like any job but you will struggle to find a better employer to support you in your career development.

Pros

Flexibility, work life balance

Cons

Some clients can be hard work

Not a fun place to work.

Typical day can be boring.I learned nothing as staff didn't want to teach you the job role.Management, where do I start, very clicky, quick to shoot you down when you got concerns regarding the job role, like a Typical example the less you do the more you're thought of.The workplace culture is if your face fits your looked after and you get away with murder. The hardest part of the job is getting up and going to work. The most enjoyable part of the job is going home.VINCI as a company are more interested in keeping the contracts it has than their employees.

Do not work for them

Try to force staff to do overtime because of how they treat staff we are under staffed and the staff are leaving because of how we are all treated, underpaid, management don’t care about their staff, other staff Argue among themselves because lack of Morale and management say you’re not allowed to talk in work unless it’s about work. People have asked me if I would recommend working there and as soon as I tell them no and why they then won’t apply for the post

Pros

None

Cons

Underappreciated

Poor management and communication skills.

The cleaning was easy and effective for the hours given. Team was lovely and supportive however management was very poor and constant over turn of management caused issues with workers the communication between management and staff was very poor and the lack of job progression was very frustrating hence leaving.

Avoid at all costs

Really poor place to work, if only they followed what they preach and supported their work force. Lots of promises and carrots dangled but commercially controlled and lack of guidance here it will not be long before they lose this contract or cause the fatality of patients Very lacking
