Your life must revolve around vita student
I would only recommend working for this company if you have no family, friends, children or a social life. The amount of work you are expected to do for one person is beyond unrealistic. The management only like yes people who are basically super human. I must say the team I worked with were fantastic, but your all in the same boat, stressed and overworked by management. If you do not agree to the work load or days you work, you will be made to feel like your being bullied into a corner until you do. They offer you all these fantastic schemes or ways of progression but it never happens! You can go above and beyond for this company but you do not get any recognition from those you should. This company did nothing to help me feel less anxious than I already did. I had no option but to seek other employment. I would recommend not applying for any roles within this company, do not be fooled by the hourly pay.

Dont expect any progress
I’ve been working for Vita for long time. Haven’t learned nothing important, no progression at all. Feel very bad about it as could do much more by simply changing my job earlier and start my career in desired area (what I do now so it’s never to late to change a job). If you are desperate for additional income or you’re young professional with no family - ok so the job could be for you but only temporarily as there is no future.Funny when you are reading the job responsibilities you see cleaning, customer service skills etc but actually you painting empty rooms, corridors, skirting boards, doing some maintenance jobs and you getting paid for being poor night porter. Guess they have mistaken night porter with night painter (in that case salary too). Even residents were shocked when they saw me painting at night (for example busy weekend) when in the same time you have to take care of 140+ tenants, keep an eye on reception area and work as a security as anyone could get into the building so if anything would happen, it’s your responsibility. Management will make you anything to in the end get annual bonus for achieving goals while you getting nothing. Not even a card for Christmas. No appreciation at all. Don’t recommend to work for Vita Student. Maybe it has changed, who knows but wouldn’t be surprised if not.

If you’re honest, they’re honest
Vita is a decent place to work for that comes with a good wage & decent benefits from the events that occur, yes it’s long hours and there’s many different jobs to be doing during your shift but it’s definitely worth it for the experience and wage! If you’re honest with the management they’re honest with you. There is however quite a large disconnect between the higher higher ups and the students that stay as in the events seem quite pointless and out of touch.

Housekeeper
Worked at Vita on a zero hour contract for 5 months and I loved every minute there. I couldn’t fault anything. The management are great and so supporting, they really take an interest in you and care. There were always shifts each week with good flexibility and the management work well with you on what shifts you can and can’t work. The housekeeping team are so friendly and welcoming, even when your working between the two buildings. I would highly recommend working here, I’ll be sad to go and if it came working here again then I definitely would.
