Best of a bad bunch
Trade Plate Driver (Former Employee) - Walsall - 26 July 2021
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedOf the plating companies I've worked for WDC cars are an ok bunch. You have to be on the ball with the motorway.co.uk work otherwise you'll be paying out to dealers for damage that you miss or don't think worth mentioning. Some dealers try it on. Initially everything was great but planning went downhill and you are simply allocated some cars to collect, regardless of where your next collection is in relation to your last delivery. 3 hours on public transport is common and when you get that twice in one day that's half your day sat on buses and trains, plus the time it takes to do the actual jobs. Put one foot wrong and you'll be out on ear however much you try do the right thing. Expect long days with little reward for your efforts however much you try.
Pros
Travel paid for
Cons
Long hours. No work life balance. Little reward. Not for the family man or woman

Productive, Fast Paced
Trade Plate Driver (Current Employee) - Portsmouth, Hampshire - 2 August 2022
Been with WDC for almost 6 months. Overall I have enjoyed being part of the trade plate team working both independently and with other drivers. Support from the coordinators is excellent with all equipment supplied (plates, tablet, hi-viz, polo, tread gauge). Training is provided to be able to appraise a vehicle accurately and efficiently to Motorway standard. With good time management you can complete the expected delivery and collections each day. Some days are longer than others however you are always planned to get home. If you are hard working and can think on your feet to work around logistical problems you will be well able to perform in this environment.
Pros
Travel expenses covered, supportive environment, home every night, mixture of vehicles.
Cons
Long hours

Vehicle Assessor (Trade Plate Driver) (Former Employee) - Walsall, West Midlands - 17 May 2022
Want to be treated badly, Sworn at and lied to by the management team? Then go ahead and apply. Pathetic training! You will be thrown in at the deep end. They say you’ll get uniform but you won’t. You will be charged £75 for the trade plates £125 for a tablet and £5 per day for insurance (Any accidents or damage you will be forced to pay and if you dare question it you’ll be sacked) unlike every other company I’ve seen that offer these things for free. One wrong move and you are gone, Accidental or not! Like the actual job but not with this company! Treated with utter contempt. Plenty of other companies looking for trade plate drivers. Awful from top to bottom, Avoid this one!!!!

Great place to Work
Trade Plate Driver (Current Employee) - Walsall, West Midlands - 6 August 2021
I have worked for a few trade plate companies and I must say I have not been as happy as when I joined WEDELIVERCARS.CO.UK Yes, you will work hard, yes you on occasion work late and some days you will be suck in traffic. But on the whole it’s a great job. Driving reliable cars all over the country and all you get all public transport expense paid back. In the event you have a quite day with maybe just one job your wages will be topped up. You also have a team of driver co-ordinators who are at the end the phone to help and support.
Pros
All work expenses paid
Cons
Can be long hours but rewarding
