I enjoyed my time working here and received many opportunities to progress into the manager role. The benefits were extremely good and the management were supportive and motivational

Pros

Great benefits as you move up into management

Cons

Busy shifts that were often understaffed

Good job, nice work colleagues

Worked here for a short period of time on nights. Plenty of work to keep you busy, pay was ok and work colleagues was always friendly. Only issue was at times at night being left alone for long periods of time when it should be 2 people in the shop

Pros

Permanent contract and good colleagues

Cons

None

Stressful, rude management

The management were rude and looked down on staff. Competitive and rude employees who would put other newer employees down. Pay was average. Very fast paced environment especially during holidays

Doesnt pay you

Constantly understaffed, very very high staff turnover. This company always pays late and have to beg for your money. No colleague toilets, have to share customer ones. Pro is having greggs on site

Pros

Greggs on site

Cons

No pay

Okay place

Not the best place to work but not the worst, one day you’d be on a early then evening, then a day off and then early again so it was all very draining, but in terms of the petrol station, the job was good, and the on-site perks and discounts, would work there again if I had to

A company with great people but potential to do so much more

Pros-You meet great people -Great discounts if you work at a Welcome Break siteCons-Zero work-life balance depending on your unit.-Pay isn't competitive enough and rarely if ever gets reviewed-Company preaches about values and that it values its staff, however, this rarely translates into anything material. Your unit could be operating 65% above sales targets and there would be no reward or recognition for this.-Management is overstretched

Very busy with not enough staff

Very busy all the time and is very fast paced. Not enough staff sometimes and when left alone the job can become very difficult and stressful. And a very easy interview.

Pros

Good Discounts & Benefits

Cons

Stressful

Stressful but rewarding

They trained me very well since I was a starter, money sanitization, and basic retail laws. It's definitely not a job for the faint-hearted as it can become really stressful and fast-paced really quick and when left alone on the shop floor with tons of things to do it can sort of pile up. This may just be at the location I work at though.

Pros

50 percent off all shops in the services; subway, Kfc, etc. 15 percent off whsmith itself

Cons

Long hours, the wage isn't the best.

Good people, decent management, but after leaving school not enough pay

Good people to work with, but some people in more money than others, unfairly. job can be easy when quiet but fast-paced and stressful when busy. hours are okay and can work around life outside of work. some staff members can get quite lazy

Pros

good bunch of staff to work with, can joke around with them, good pay until you leave school

Cons

sometimes shifts can be very boring and long, some incentives for busy times

Stressful environment & rude staff

Don’t work there. Very stressful, dirty. Always understaffed. Management has no respect to regular staff. Company doesn’t even provide their employees clean toilets. No comment 🤦🏻‍♀️

It was not an enjoyable experience for my first job

I was a housekeeper and was treated very poorly, the manager should not have had his job for some of the things he had said and done to me. While some of the employees were very fair and nice to me, others were not. I do not recommend working here.

Pros

None

Cons

Bad boss, unclean, discrimination, homophobic, unprofessional

Pros

Cons

The clients were sometimes an issue

Productive and fun work place

I really enjoy working for welcome break (days inn),The management are approachable and always willing to help, working with a very friendly team made to feel very welcome.

Pros

Friendly environment, good pay

Stressful and fast paced

5 hour shifts turn into 8 hours with no time for a break, this is due to the amount of work you are expected to do, you are often asked to work your day off, which ever job you do there it is expected to do others, there are not enough staff that the job demands

Pros

None

Cons

Extremely long hours
