Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI worked at west London NHS trust in a variety of health service roles between 1982 and 2019 when I retired, I found it a friendly organisation that supported my development.

Not so great.
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Crowthorne, Berkshire - 7 July 2023
Not worth the money. Underpaid for the risk you are taking. Depends in what ward you are working. But mostly it is a toxic place and staff are not protected there at all.

I worked here for a brief 7 months - I had to leave due to personal reasons however I enjoyed my time here, line manager was very good, supportive and understanding. Hours were good and flexible if need to be. If it wasn't for personal reasons I would go back!

Enjoyed working there but awful treatment of bank staff
Healthcare facilitator (Former Employee) - Crowthorne - 23 January 2021
I loved working for WLMHT, great place to gain experience and feels as part of a family. However the management of bank staff is horrendous and bank staff are treated very poorly. Would take months to book a shift or contact management regarding training, concerns etc. After numerous attempts of trying to contact them, I decided to leave. This was such a shame as I loved working at the hospital.
Pros
Fantastic work experience
Cons
Treatment of bank staff

Terrible place to work
Reception & Security (Former Employee) - Crowthorne - 10 February 2020
In recent years budget costs have halfed and with this follows staff cuts and appalling management decisions. Staff are constantly under pressure and overworked, with more a more workload added with minimal support from senior management. Most of the time it runs on a skeleton crew, which is just dangerous. High Secure Services cannot be run on minimal budgets.
Pros

Broadmoor
Gym Instructor (Former Employee) - Crowthorne - 8 December 2019
Really good staff team usual NHS poor management issues however I still would put them at number 2 in my top five of the 5 trusts I have worked for, if you are able to leave your personal feeling at the gate this is a good place to work.

Staff Nurse@Secure Hospital
Staff Nurse (Current Employee) - Crowthorne - 9 April 2016
The job is a challenge itself with the threats from patients at any given time. You are always short on shift and stretched to the limit with long stressfull days. Very high stress levels with pseudo staff support. The training is superb but the management is very institutionalised, racist and very punitive to staff who try to whistleblow bad practice.
Its a hard hat area which i would only recommend to adrenaline junkies as the job requires you to be a super human. The experience you get is second to none but is it worth it when you cripple your career with one job. A lot of my colleagues who left the job as retired would spend a year and thereafter they die.
It is not a good place to work anymore as shifts are changed at short notice.
Pros
You get paid
Cons
CQC are always in your unit
