This place is changing things around. The fact that they hold people accountable equally is something new management has focused on. you will work a lot of hours but you will be compensated well for those hours. Management does not like working Saturdays but for customer needs it is necessary. If you show up to work, perform you duties and work well with your crew, you can make a long term career here.
Pay, benefits, stability
Working Saturdays during busy seasons, Complaining co-workers
Liked the people I worked with alot but management was a pain in the D!Ck. Smother you like some hash browns with cheese! Most guys work there A S S off in 110° temperature but get no form of gratitude or appreciation. Most guys seem to have a chip on their shoulder a month into the job for this exact reason.
Fun Coworkers decent pay
I worked on 2 separate occasions. On the first we worked 8 hour shifts with mandatory overtime rarely but you could volunteer for all the overtime you wanted. I loved workin here during this time frame which was 2013-2015. I returned in 2019 and it had become Westrock and let me tell you it had went downhill dramatically to put it mildly as possible. 6 days a week 12 hour shifts and sometimes 7 mandatory. Granted you got 5 days off every couple of weeks but if you have a family not the place for you.
There are some genuinely good people that work on the plant floor at WestRock. It gets hot on the floor during the summer, but that’s to be expected given the environment. But the management in the place is awful. I’ve never seen a place that tries to have their employees work every weekend. It basically takes an act of God or something similar to get a weekend off in this place. Most people on the floor don’t mind working weekends when you can see there is a reason to work them such as being extremely busy. But, we’ve worked so many weekends when it was obvious that we didn’t need to be there that weekend. You have no life outside of the place. Can’t plan anything due to not knowing when your next day off will be. So much drama and always short staffed. The quality of the people they’re bringing in now show how desperate the place is to just bring in bodies to fill vacancies. High turnover and several employees currently trying to find new jobs for the same reasons
Management, overtime, weekends, drama, pay raises
This company doesn’t care about your personal life. All they care about is getting the work orders done. Poor management decisions and a really bad plant manager. Management changes the rules to their convenience and one of the union representatives works on favor of the company.
Paid lunch, free uniforms
Lunch is only 20 mins, no life

Bad management. They hire from outside the company so managers don't have a clue to what machine operators go through but try to tell operators what to do . They demand 72 hours a week , 12 hours 6 days a week . So don't plan on having a life . Lastly the administration doesn't appreciate its workers . They will disrespect you and don't care about anything but production goals.
Super exhausted, no time to have a personal life
Work life sucks and ypur pay sucks as well compaired to the otherajor places out there doing the same job. Also forget about advancement there is no room to move up i worked there 4 years and was mever offered anything more then a paycheck at best
Managment is a joke they want you to do 100 things at once or it’s not good enough for them the lie to you about having time off to be with your family plus it’s bs you get a point if you don’t stay cause other people who work there don’t want to cone in so they force you to stay after you just busted your butt I’m glad I don’t work there anymore place is very stressful I don’t see how this company succeeds
You're treated like a dog. Very terrible. They don't care about their workers at all. none of the machines ever get fixed correctly. They don't care about safety even though they say they do. They care nothing for workers at all. GM is worst ever met.
Ask any operator that has been there for years if a place opened up across the street and would match everything only a handful of people would show up tomorrow Management does NOT respect their operators opinions if a machine is broke but will still run it will stay broke standard 2 weeks of training then your on your own
One tract mind making boxes during covid pandemic they said they were reducing overtime to help adjust for loss of volume but posted OT the next day. Didnt offer flexibility with school closings and even technically cut my job during the volume loss and still werent flexible No emergency time off just about them.
