You only have to work a fifth iof your weekly contract a day. So 15 hour contract 5 X 3 hours shifts 20 hour 5 X 4. Any more hours you do is overtime and should not affect the rest of your week. So if you're on 20 hour contract and do 3 hour extra one day they cannot take the 3 hours off of another days hours. Rotas are one of the most important tasks in management yet no thought goes into most of them. Your iffy hours are pure and simply down to poor management!

5 shifts per week

Yes, they don't even have the manners to ask u if u can do the extra shifts. You are told to check the rota everyday in the break room. To see if there are any changes.
