Improving
Manager (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 24 May 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedCulture is slowly improving. Salaries are below the market rate. Many times it can feel as if you are an employee of the client as opposed to Wincanton alone.

Well looked after with progression opportunities
WTM (Current Employee) - Gloucester, Gloucestershire - 24 May 2022
It is a fast paced working environment. A good work ethic will get you noticed and rewarded with possible job progression. You are provided with decent uniform, locker, secure gated parking, subsidised canteen, staff shop and plenty of training (If you show interest) The warehouse is run by shift work

Good place to work
LGV 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Bristol - 23 May 2022
Due to working at a outpost you are left to yourself, management are at the end of a phone if any problems and are generally helpful. Health and safety are taken serious within the company

Boring and not organised wouldn't recommend
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - London - 17 May 2022
I was working at Wincanton in Greenford, I got the job through an agency. To be honest the place was terrible to work at the handheld devices they give you have issues which can mess up your work. It's the same stuff everyday pretty much but that's what you'd probably would expect from a warehouse job. The supervisors aren't too bad but the managers are rude overall I wouldn't go back
Pros
I guess discount food lol
Cons
Boring, repetitive and not organised

Excellent job
HGV Class 1 & 2 Driver (Current Employee) - Charlton, Greater London - 17 May 2022
Great company to work for very good pay and work life balance, I was on the sainsburys contract, had 4 on 4 off and 4 on 3 offs, very easy work. Only 1 or 2 store delivery’s in a shift. Given risk assessments so don’t need to worry about parking
Pros
Pay, easy work, 4 on 4 off
Cons
Can’t think of any

Place were respect is down
werehose team member (Current Employee) - Stafford - 16 May 2022
I was enthusiastic on the first two months, then I see other have more time to chat, and me more and more work, when I had to chatting manager watch me, and called me to his desk and asked me why I had chatting with other?, I mean the management is not equal with everyone, one have more time then other people to chat, other people like me work more than others, and not enough help from others.

Only for short term
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Northampton, Northamptonshire - 12 May 2022
Picker in produce - If you decide to do this job as a full time, make sure you save up first for a wheelchair because you'll need it. If you do your job in a safe manner with correct form you will be driving your "score" down. Would recommend only for really short time and part-time. You might get excited about the salary which at first sigh might look great, for the work you do should be at least double. Is not worth ruining your back, trust me.

Class 1 driver 4 on 4 off days.
Class 1 driver 4 on 4 off days (Current Employee) - Middlewich - 11 May 2022
Transport office staff are very nice, most are drivers and are helpful. Some days your trailer isn’t loaded which impacts the run plan. Trucks and all modern and good to drive and most of the trailers are modern to. Delivering to cash and carry’s, supermarket dc’s and collecting from breweries. Shift’s are between 10 & 13 hours. If you’re on a 4 on 4 of shift pattern you can work a 5th or 6th shift which tops up your salary. On the downside the company has been very slow at paying your overtime so make sure your basic salary is enough! Tramping is available as is 5 out of 7 shift pattern.

Pays the bills
Warehouse Worker (Current Employee) - Stafford - 1 May 2022
Good place for few months, although some celrks and step-ups are power driven and will use it to bully people. Only few percent of managers are good, others are just freinds of a friends who got their job because of that. No people skills and they treat workers as enemies. Majority of them are liers and not helping us. We are just numbers in here

Fine place to work
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Stoke-on-Trent - 29 April 2022
Good place to work if money is needed. However work to life balance is not very good. A lot of over time is available. The place can be pretty nosiy. Breaks are paid but only 30 mins

Typical warehouse
Customer Assistant (Former Employee) - London - 27 April 2022
It's a typical warehouse job. Different shifts, including nights - but once someone is hired for one shift, stays there. Working 8 hours, including 30 min break. Any 5 days a week - according to the schedule. Working in different temperatures - ambient, chill and frozen. Hard, physical work, including heavy lifting. Very likely to injure your back. Possible to be promoted. The best part - available shopping Waitrose producs in a local shop - nearly expired, but still good quality and with big discount.

Awful, Don't work here unless you have to
Multi Task Operative (Former Employee) - Chippenham - 27 April 2022
Awful place being run into the ground by terrible management. Competitive pay is a lie, Pay raise is terrible and everyone is on the same rate despiteworkload. Only work here if you absolutely have to otherwise jumpship at the first opportunity. Team members are leaving in droves and you're expected to pick up the slack
Pros
Relaxed environment, decent team
Cons
Hostile management

Delivery Driver
Customer delivery driver (Current Employee) - Greenford - 25 April 2022
Hit and Miss with the pay (if working over your hours due late finish or overtime it’s worrying if it will be logged properly and they’ll get the pay right on payday . Management hit and Miss too Some are great and helpful some are hard to find when needing assistance

Britvic lutterworth contract
Warehouse Worker (Current Employee) - Lutterworth, Leicestershire - 24 April 2022
The Only good thing about this place is the lads that work in the warehouse. Managers not bothered about the staff just getting pop out the door. You will be classed as a unskilled worker by certain managers. Unless your a single person shifts are awful specially the weekend shifts no life or shift allowance just to make you aware of that. There are many better places of work out there with better pay and conditions and will treat you like a human being. You will usually get the if you don’t like it leave we will replace you too. Staff turnover isn’t high just because they see the 45hr week which includes some weekends and all bank holidays and think I want a life and don’t apply. Shift managers are clueless don’t no any of the jobs that the Coordinators do or know to that. I could go on how disheartening how unwanted and the rest working for Wincanton makes you.

Not for me...
Delivery Driver apprenticeship (Current Employee) - Trafford - 23 April 2022
If your wanting to get into the transport business and don't mind working long hours this is a good fit for you. I came in thinking it would be easy and the long hours on the road are anything but and boring. Made a mistake picking this one.
Pros
Free uniform
Cons
Long hours boring job.

Poor company to work for.
Shunter Driver (Former Employee) - Basildon - 19 April 2022
After 19 years working for this company ( I can't even mention them by name ) they became the worst company I've had the misfortune to work for . They became a great source of stress for me when I was seriously ill and they made it worse.

Good career job.
Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Warwickshire - 18 April 2022
I enjoyed my days working with the company. I felt well supported. Good benefits such as work gear. Good pay and pension. Good holiday entitlements. I actually left the company to move to another country otherwise I would still be with them. Other good things the company did were advanced driver course’s. Really good Christmas party and a good work related company bonus. A very good company to go and work for.
