Ok for stop gap

Indeed featured review

This is not a job for a someone wanting to have a career most weeks it's a case of leave early hours Sunday unpaid travel to a store count warehouse, 2/3 hrs unpaid break, count shopfloor then travel to hotel for job next day hotels on services where you share with upto 2 others , live on sandwiches and pot noodles all week if your lucky you may have a decent McDonalds on services but only soo much junk food you can tolerate the work itself is easy terminal pretty much does it for you you just type the numbers in and press send you do more travelling than actual work which most of travel is under 100 miles so you dont even get the measly 8p per mile you are expected to live on end of your phone as management expect you to jump at their every whim pay is minimal you cant run a home on the wages

Pros

Other counters get you though the shifts

Cons

Unpaid travel, stay away from home all week, poor pay, expected to be robot

If your desperate

New staff are fairly paid, existing staff left on existing wage and 0 hour contracts. The work itself is enjoyable, simply counting stock and improving accuracy.Be prepared to work ungodly, unsociable hours with 0 compensation.Be prepared to be out of the house for majority of your day and night being paid for roughly half of this time

Pros

Humble, enjoyable work

Cons

Low pay, long hours

Absolutely not worth the hassle

Working for WIS requires a mass amount of travelling & hotel stays, so the work/life balance is terrible. I stayed in hotels 4 nights a week - the shift pattern for most stores is 6am to 2pm (with option for additional shift around 7:30pm to 9pm, although it’s a decision made my management) which isn’t terrible, but the work is menial and the money definitely isn’t worth working the international team. There’s also next to no opportunity for advancement & I definitely wouldn’t recommend working for ANY stocktake company as a young woman.

Pros

Early shift finishes

Cons

Constant travel, no work/life balance, alcohol & drug culture

Do not waste your time!!

managers are to busy trying to find new girls to sleep with, you only get incentives if you’re one of those girls You only get what you want if you sleep with one of them (I wouldn’t, you’ll either catch something or secretly they have a woman waiting for them at home, or man) the job is overall rubbish they expect you to work all hours day and night you have all of 15 min breaks when working all through the night and morningAnyone must have a screw loose to stay at this job because it really is slave labourAll the counts are inaccurate anyway so don’t listen to whatever they try and learn you because they don’t go by it Whole company is a joke

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Everything

Do not work here

the days are long, the pay is poor and the work environment feels like a boys club. getting shifts is often irregular, on an outdated website with an expectation that your life will revolve around the company and their timings. I have encountered no show disciplinaries despite having properly informed the management of me not being able to cover the shift

Absolute joke

You'd be better off volunteering for a charity than working here! Management don't give you the opportunity to prove yourself. One slip up and you're out the door. You spend most of your life travelling which you do not get paid for and they expect you to function with 2000% accuracy on little to no sleep between jobs. Transport to your next job could be in London and you can get sacked as soon as you get there, hence the only pro is a free lift to the capital, but dont expect a lift home.

Cons

Scam

Productive workplace

Really good if you enjoy working away from home all the time and being ensured work every week, pay could be better but the quicker you can count the higher the pay. It is a really easy job all you have to be able to do is count different stores but they all have different ways to work.

Pros

Seeing different places

Cons

Salary, long hours

Like an amazon warehouse

The whole job is going round supermarkets counting items as fast as you can. The company gets paid per item counted, and they only get penalised if they're off by a certain amount, so everyone is encouraged to GUESS the numbers so they can count faster. Everything revolves around faster (but not necessarily accurate) counting. You will spend the whole time alone.Employees get taken all around the country. You will not be 'on the clock' for the travelling time. You will be staying 4-to-a-room in the cheapest hotels.

Pros

Seeing different supermarkets?

Cons

Everything else

Don’t bother

Don’t bother with this place, when your new there just get rid of you straight away and they don’t really solve anything when it needs doing. You never really get to speak to anyone to do with management so you’ll speak to someone and they’ll have to pass it on but if they don’t it’s your fault.

Pros

None

Cons

Long hours

Worst job and management ive ever experienced

I worked with WIS for about 4 months stock taking, and as the pandemic hit, for 2 months+ I started working with the Asda branch support which I actually enjoyed. First of, I actually enjoyed working for WIS and I liked the work, but as soon as you've been working for a couple of months you soon realise just how un-organised of a company it really is, even if you work hard and at a steady pace, if you're not management or someone of higher power, you are treated with little to no respect most of the time, and they have a big problem with how pay works, and being a company such as its self you wouldn't think this wouldn't be an issue, some weeks I would work a set amount of hours and expect the correct amount of money for hours worked, but when it came to pay day it would sometimes be half the amount expected, at a rate of £8.72 an hour and hours varying 8-10 hours, for 2 weeks you'd be expecting around £600-£700 give or take and not taking into account extra hours worked, but most of the time it was more like £250 every 2 weeks, and that doesn't add up to any half smart person. Also you're away from family a lot making these problems ever much worse, just not worth it at all. Overall my complete experience with this company was horrendous, i would only recommend to people who are completely desperate for cash, as the interview is very easy and you're almost guarenteed the job as long as you don't have a few brain cells missing.

Pros

easy to get into as he interview is an easy ace

Cons

pretty much everything else

Don't stay long

Work way too much and take even more bullying from both the stores and the your colleagues you travel for hours for such little work and when you leave you will need a new Back and knees

Pros

Get to travel

Cons

Long hours

Awful would avoid at all costs

You are constantly tired always traveling and only get paid when counting. Its a zero hour contract and it's one of those places where you have to fit in if you don't they single you out and blame you at any given opportunity. Long hours not good pay.Wouldn't go back

Pros

Meet new people

Cons

Long hours, constant traveling, awful pay

Pathetic

Managers where spot on. It’s the higher management who don’t have a clue. Rubbish money for working away 550 was the most I ever made for two weeks. Home on Saturday morning back away Sunday morning no life. Also you go away and they sit you out if you don’t do as good as they set these unrealistic targets. I hit mine every time but lads and lasses away from family working and sit you out but when you sit out you never get paid and they never pay you at you earned AVOID hard to get shifts

Pros

Meeting people

Cons

Long hours

Poor work life balance

Poor management of staff, really high turnover in all positions, face has to fit to progress. The hours that you work aren't reflected in your pay and training and support is poor and it's a sink or swim culture.Regional manager doesn't lead by example, and support is non existent so many negative reviews sums it up.

Pros

None

Cons

Everything

Steer Clear

Long hours, unprofessional management at different levels including junior and senior management.Staff turnover through the roof and undesirable people employed as a result

Pros

I’ll let you know when I do

Cons

Long hours.. bad pay

Awful

Dreadful company to work for zero hours contracts treat their management team like they are complete idiots have no investment in equipment and expect you to work stupid hours. Avoid at all costs if you want a work life balance and want to be treated with respect

Cons

Long hours treated like an idiot expected to work for nothing

Worst place in the world to work

I would highly recommend going on the dole than working for this company they mess you about with work, make you work in godly hours then drop you miles away from home and expect you to make your own way back after a count, the supervisors and team leaders are as clueless as my Nan after she’s been on a blunt. They have no communication between any of them, the pay is the worst I have ever had and they don’t pay you correctly 9 times out of 10. Don’t work for this company

Worst place ever

Just save yourself. It’s not even worth a penny, you get paid incorrectly, you’re out of your house for more than you even work, which you don’t even get paid for???? and all that travelling may seem like a nice idea.. until you’re only getting paid 8p a mile, AFTER travelling 100 miles. Seriously, you can do better than a place like this. I could go on and on about the whole experience, but I would rather not remember it. However, you do meet some very nice people, not ALL, but some.
