Just don't ever work ever
Administrator (Former Employee) - Wiltshire - 29 June 2021
Management is truly bad. Gossiping, bad treatment to the new starter. Very cliquey. Don't waste your time working here. So many better workplaces that treat other people like humans.
Pros
Payment
Cons
The people are rude and cliquey

Don’t apply
Adding driver resources (Former Employee) - Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey - 31 January 2021
Don’t stick to promises/ agreements in your contract, no real opportunities to progress (mainly source managers from Certas). If your a planner expect national accounts and the sales teams in Staines to talk to you in a manner that’s deemed not acceptable and get away from it. Put a few complaints in across my tenure and the complaints were never taken seriously. Asked my manager at the time for some time off due to mental health. Was given a day off and on my return was suspended.
Pros
None

Driver's beware
Driver (Former Employee) - Guildford, Surrey - 18 August 2020
, doesn't seem to matter how hard you work or how reliable you are "the company" doesn't think any better of you. Office staff don't seem to have much respect for drivers either, everyone for themselves. It's all about "the company " people don't matter
Pros
Money if you do long hours
Cons
No days off between November and March

Poor
HGV Class 2 Driver with ADR (Former Employee) - Copthorne, West Sussex - 21 January 2020
Chemical toilet for the first 4 weeks.
This is driving dangerous goods, the idiots at head office think its just another delivery. It is dangerous, the routers overloaded the truck with the quantities of fuel making it illegal so you have to either do 2 runs or not do some deliveries.
The checks in the morning were rushed. The agencies rip you off. If you like smelling of kero, derv or of fueld its yourthing

Started under monarch now full time with employers
hgv class 2 adr driver (Current Employee) - Selby, North Yorkshire - 16 July 2019
Not a bad agency at all they only get involved when things are going wrong,
They leave the company you work for to deal with you as tho you work for them,
I have had no issues with them really other than the clocking app but that’s about it.
Decent pay that leads into a full time job.
The job is great steady away no pressure to keep rushing about job involves house drops farms building sites no nights out not much motorway driving.
See some nice sights And it’s stress free.
Pros
Great team steady work no pressure nice place to work
Cons
Flat rate £12.75 no over time rate whilst on monarch

Senior Manager (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 13 June 2019
the work culture is not good and you have to be part of the "boys club" in order to keep your job. tons of people who don't do anything all day.
the headquarters are much more openminded.

Hard work!
Fuel Supervisor (Former Employee) - London - 29 March 2018
Whilst this work environment is not for everyone, it is ideal for younger, ambitious people with an eye on a career with a major company.
Due to the nature of where World Fuel Services operate, it is sometimes necessary to work outside the normal 9-5 working day.
Pros
Situated in the centre of London
Cons
Long hours

The company is going downhill fast!
Not a good place to work.
Morale has plummeted and a lot of people from all offices are seeking other opportunities.
Loyalty, performance and experience not valued.
The company is not what it used to be
They expect you to give your all then give little in return
Pros
People are nice to work with. Medical benefits
Cons
Long hours, no work/life balance as expected to answer emails at all hours of the day

Great company going through a lot of change
Director (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 12 February 2017
WFS could be an amazing company to work for. However they are currently going through a serious period of change which is leaving their general workforce, across all sectors very demoralised and unsure of the future.
As a business WFS are not going anywhere !! However the same can't be said for the turnover of staff.
People are jumping ship because they are so concerned about the future.
If you have a strong enough stomach and can weather the storm then its worth sticking around

Varied, changable, technical
Land Sales Executive (Current Employee) - Swindon - 22 August 2016
My day to day is varied between field sales work and office work, I am constantly learning as the industry changes and adapts to legislation and customer needs, so in constant touch with my manager and have a team I can wholly rely on behind me in support.
The most enjoyable part of the job is closing a sale / winning new business from a cold call, and the hardest is keeping updated with legislation changes and fuel prices as the market fluctuates daily. Today I learned how to test a fuel for contamination on site for microbiological residue.
Pros
Education and training
Cons
Long distance travelling by car

the poorest staff management
not reflecting actual responsibilities (Former Employee) - London - 21 February 2016
no career development, changes in the reporting line advised only verbally and from one day to the other, never received an official communication by HR. More and more responsibilities to take over on a daily basis, never recognised through review of the job description or position title. Overtime not compensated. Code of conduct applies only to some of the personnel. No equal treatment of staff. Complete lack of communication top to bottom.
