Great company, Great Team, Great Opportunity

Featured review

Wren Kitchens selected this as a representative review
Since starting with Wren, not only have I felt that I have developed as a salesperson, I also feel that I have gained far more knowledge of the industry and gained a new skillset that I did not have before. The management and team at Wren Slough are a vibrant, multicultured and welcoming group of people, who have nurtured and supported my development from the offset. Having a learning disorder means that I take longer to learn new processes and skills, but Wren have been endlessly supportive of my extra needs and I feel I am progressing at a healthy rate.I am very excited for the future with Wren.

Pros

Great team, Supportive Managment, Challenging work

Don't work here

If you value your sanity then don't work here, it's ok as a job, but don't look at it as a career. Lack of progression and training opportunities, rude coworkers, back breaking labour work. Honestly management don't care about you, speak to you with zero respect then expect you to kiss up to them

Terrible company

This job is not what they make it out to be, you get made to cold call people and have to push customers into spending ridiculous amounts of money on kitchens and you don't really get a lot of commission out of it either. The base salary is disgustingly low to say the owner's net worth is in the billions, within the 6 months I lasted in the company I saw people get sacked after only a couple of months working there for not being on target and countless people leaving because of the pressure management and head office put on you. It's an awful work environment with you having to work 14 days straight over Christmas and rarely being able to book time off, you do NOT get a work-life balance! The staff turnover at the showroom I worked at was a joke among some colleagues that managed to last. This is a company I will always tell people to avoid for work or being a customer.

Cons

no work life balance, shift patterns, management and head office

Nah

Senior management is brutal with the showroom managers. they lie at the interview stage about your commission. they do not give you the benefit of the doubt.

Pros

u leave after work

Cons

lots

Toxic work culture in head office

It may appear to be a great company with a lot of potential progression and opportunity, but be aware that the heads of and directors are extremely toxic individuals. The company does not look after its people and is definitely not inclusive. It is all about who you know and is nothing about how good people are. You can trust no one and no one supports each other for the good of the business, it is just every man for themselves. If you are looking at designer roles, it can be a brilliant place to work as the showrooms are usual great environments and there is potential to earn a lot of money. But avoid head office. Retention across all head office roles is extremely poor for a reason!!! It seemed great for a while, but looking back, I am so glad I got out of there!

Pros

Designer role

Cons

Long hours, toxic environment, late pay reviews, poor pay

Can earn good money but there’s a lot of pressure to do sales.

A typical would be going in, answer a few emails, keeping ringing back your clients, sometimes asked to be a bit more pushy to get them back specially during sale end. It’s a competitive workplace and staff at times seemed to put other staff aside and gossip with the insider group (people who have been there the longest)If anything goes wrong with your order, it comes out of your commission. Everything is your responsibility, even after speaking to management they basically throw you out there and tell you to deal with the issue yourself.A lot of pressure, responsibilities, lack of personal time. Crazy hours at times, having to come in on your day off.If you’re a good sales person though, you will certainly profit from this job but everything that comes with it makes it unenjoyable.

Inspirational and quality work

A typical day at work would be having a briefing with management about what the day will consist of. Then we would go through our dashboard and do overdue tasks consisting of calling or emailing customers etc. Dealing with walk in customers and helping out current customers. Doing appointments if scheduled in.

Pros

Very friendly team and hard working

Cons

Every weekend work and unsociable days off

Nice people awful ethic

Working with your friends is what gets you through the day. Too many rules and too many people in management with no idea what they are doing. Set you up to fail

Good Place

Let's be honest - does anyone really like their work and goign to work? However i have been at some pretty grim places and whilst this one is a little odd in terms of culture and micro management - the upside is everyone has a job, eveyrone knows their job and a little like the army it juts works as it should

Steer clear

Death by email and no support to the employee .Customer's so unhappy. I learnt how not to treat customer the wren way . Hardest part I would say is sorting all the messed up kitchen out which look like there been thrown in by a contractor

Pros

Going home

Cons

Long hours mismanaged doesnt don't care about the customer

Busy exciting place to work

A typical day seems to fairly busy with appointments and admin but also an exciting experience, meeting new people and designing their dream kitchens. I have learnt a lot about kitchens and the process/details of how it all works. The culture and management are great and really make you feel at home. The hardest part for me will be the amount of admin involved but as long as I’m organised, I should be fine!

Cons

Long hours and weekend work

Depends on people

It all depends on what department you go to and who you work with. The work is rather hard. If you work well and a lot and are committed, there is a chance for promotion.

sell you the dream but it's awful ..

wouldn't be allowed to finish your shift if you hadn't sold a kitchen, if you had then they would up the target so then you would have to sell two before you went home, wasn't paid for the overtime you did as it was seen as you would get the commission from the sale. very poor management, through a pen at one of the employees in a meeting. don't waste your time.
