Great place to work
Electrician (Former Employee) - West Yorkshire - 12 June 2023
Would recommend giving this place a go. Decent place to work and most of the management team is friendly and approachable. Pay could be better, think that's increased slightly since I've left. Fair exchange for the output that is required though.
Pros
Work life balance
Cons
Pay could be better

Planner/Scheduler (Current Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 4 May 2023
Very busy, poor support from team leaders. Lots of changes that do not benefit customer or employee. Lots of managers and experienced staff leaving the company.

OK employer but stressful
Finance Manager (Current Employee) - Home Based - 29 April 2023
Great place to work but if your not from Housing you wont progress, culture is nice and people are friendly, but long working hours and no benefits at all, salaries are flat and no additional benefit packages are offered, very over worked and under paid. High rate of attrition as left to work at home permanently with little interaction from others.
Pros
Hybrid working
Cons
Long hours, low pay

Nice Place to Work / Good Work Life Balance
Yorkshire Housing Colleague (Current Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 23 October 2022
Worked here for 2 years. WFH and flexibility is great for work life balance, most people are approachable. Pay isn't amazing but expected seen as it is not a private company. Would recommend company to a friend.

Great Culture, Team focused, Empowered and Respected
Property Surveyor (Current Employee) - Swarcliffe, LEEDS - 1 July 2022
After the last few years working for small companies in the Building trades, felt a bit down and was used to be treat badly (but like an old rescue dog) YH saved me, every day is joy, lots of variety, different situations (even jumping back on the Tools occassionly to help out), get a real kick from solving problems and making Tenants living conditions better. A great , warm friendly team, made me feel welcome from day one, feel like I've been here years ( and its only 3 months) everyone mucks in. Love it.

Productive and rewarding workplace
Fleet Manager (Current Employee) - Home Based - 10 May 2022
A typical day working for Yorkshire Housing is both thought provoking and rewarding, calling upon already established skills and providing the opportunity for evolving at the same time. Management are very supportive and regular teams calls means any issues can hopefully be ironed out straight away.

Awful HR awful middle management
Lettings Administrator (Former Employee) - Leeds - 5 May 2022
Changed CEO and whole business culture changed from there. Micro-managed in the area of business I used to work. So many changes in management and tactics of management it will leave your head spinning. Communication and training is awful and work life balance not what you would expect in this industry.
Pros
Competitive salary
Cons
Micro managed, poor management

Gas Engineer (Former Employee) - Yorkshire - 8 December 2021
I was treated very unfair and they don't even think about your home life or people with mental health. Was very disappointed by the way I was let go by a company that ment to be there for families and they wasn't for me.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Treated unfairly

Great culture, great people who care about the YH customer experience
Senior Business Change Manager (Current Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 25 November 2021
Yorkshire Housing is a not-for-profit organisation providing affordable housing for their customers across Yorkshire. They seem to get the balance right between putting the customer first, whilst being commercially driven. The work philosophy is to recruit the right thinking people, treat them as adults and trust them to contribute value into the organisation. It's a relatively new leadership team and the organisation is looking to establish a clear vision and invest appropriately to enable its delivery. Really exciting times!
Pros
Working from home, but with the opportunity to meet colleagues face-to-face
Cons
Haven't quite nailed how the vision is to be delivered - work in progress

Cons

Avoid!
Customer Experience Advisor (Former Employee) - Leeds UK - 20 August 2021
Unfortunately the restructure brought in more people whose face fitted in with higher management rather than experienced staff which had a dire knock on effect to the customer service provided. The contact centre became and remains such a structured place to work with no regard for people individually. Staff are regularly asked to cancel annual leave to attend training but will be bombarded with messages if a couple of minutes late logging on and treated like a child having to ask when time could be taken back for calls that ran past finishing time. The staff who don't suck up to management are frustrated, overlooked and unappreciated and I have seen first hand Yorkshire Housing lose so much experience in their skilled staff leaving to work elsewhere. The company promote their values in their social media and job adverts but internally do not follow nor demonstrate them. If you're looking for a role in social housing my best advice would be to hang fire and look elsewhere for the sake of your mental health if nothing else!
Pros
Payday
Cons
Almost everything

Breaks uk employment laws
Multi skilled (Former Employee) - Leeds - 14 July 2021
If your a tradesman stay well away, contracted to 37.5hrs your expected to give five hours a week ontop out of your own time for nothing that’s 240hrs a year unpaid, work 6am until 6pm for 7.5hrs pay no travel paid, modern day slave drivers! if you refuse to work 12hrs and bring up the working hour laws of the uk and stick to the laws and your contracted hours and don’t do as told they will find a way to terminate your contract. Managers think they own the company they are bullies and you will have to manage everything yourself. There’s other reviews the same as this stay well away people very poor company in every way!
Pros
None at all!
Cons
working for Yorkshire housing
