Not a bad place to be
Not a bad place to work at all wouldn’t ever say no to working at yw. Days can be long and you can do unsociable hours but you do have plenty of days off

Really great company and you’re treat as a person
I worked as a jetting technician. The company is a great company to work for and the work life balance is great too because you’re not working excessive hours and the rota is very decent company to others. There’s no massive pressure on you and health and safety is a huge focus so if you don’t feel safe doing a job you don’t do it. Sometimes jobs can be challenging and difficult but it’s rewarding when you solve it. The only problem I had working there was the salary was too low, especially when you needed a class 2 licence for the role and can make a considerable amount more elsewhere for a smaller skill set. You got paid by 5 different levels but each level would be signed off and take ages to receive the upgraded payment and even at the too end the pay is considerably less than other roles. I would not of left if it wasn’t for this though because I couldn’t fault anything else

Stressful in the end.
When I first started at Yorkshire water I really enjoyed it. After a few months there was a lot of management changes and it all went down hill from there. Very stressful department and non stop stressful calls all day no let up at all. Not enough support for what you have to deal with.
Water Jetting Tech HGV class 2 in Leeds, West Yorkshire

Great training, good team manager, good team, Dirty job,Good hours, poor replacement of ppe.
Great training, great team and team manager. Good initial issue of ppe but it wears out really quick and they are reluctant to replace. Good shifts but were bringing in nights so I left. Always had eqpt go missing from your wagon that you always need, daily. Overly complicated wage structure. Just ragged me off in the end.
