HGV Driver (Former Employee) - Chepstow, Monmouthshire - 13 November 2019
Rude arrogant chepstow transport office staff , no trading given , no communication given , drivers who have been there a while at chepstow are allowed to do next to nothing all day , new drivers have to race around and do all the work , avoid working here at all costs

Stay away
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - South Kirkby - 31 March 2019
Managerment do not have a clue about driving hours and will let you run out of hours and either send someone to pick you up which is classed as still been on duty but they believe it is not if your face fits you will get away with it if not then you get disaplined for it and say your risking there O licence when it’s them who plan for you to run out of time. Sit and do maths with your salary you max your hours out every week so your probley on about £7 ph and if you do 5 on 2 off 5 on 3 off you will be working most weekends and bank holidays for no extra pay and for £7-8 ph even on a weekend company has high turn over of drivers and are that desperate now they are setting class 2 on and training them for class 1 to try get driver contracted to stay
Pros
None
Cons
Everything joke of company

Hgv driver south kirkby
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - South kirkby - 29 March 2019
Could be a good job .Truck's not bad some trailers need scrapping easy work all spoiled by management who are clueless. They will run you out hour's with no warning when they are fully aware the job can't be done in 15 hours. There's one manager who runs his own agency he is only interested in lining his own pockets gives his driver's10 hours work they do it in 15 you will be given 15 hours work that can't be done in the time .High turnover of drivers mostly due to this one manager there is something very bent going on either somebody is getting a backhander or the top management are not doing there job's
Pros
Trunks not bad
Cons
Bent manager

Enjoyed my time there very much. Good people, flexible. A joy to go to work.
General haulage. Local shunt delivery driver (Former Employee) - Chepstow, UK - 20 January 2017
A typical day at work was varied to cover different aspects of the contracts serviced.
My normal start time would be between 16.30-18.30. I worked a 4 on 4 off shift but would always be willing to do more.
I covered various duties from deliveries to Doncaster, collections from Knottingly and Barnsley. Local multi deliveries to and from Magor and Newport.
I've had to learn how to manage live glass and can loads for production line deliveries.
Keyholder deliveries for out of hours deliveries. Loading and unloading vehicles with forklift. Securing steel loas for transportation.
I would basically do whatever I was asked and if I wasn't sure of something help was always available.
I had a lot of respect for the management I worked with and was treated with respect.

Banterous and efficient
Warehouseman (Current Employee) - Chepstow, WLS - 16 May 2015
The balance of fun and work within this company was at a very even stage, there is never a dull moment even under the most stressful of times, team work is essential and needs to be harmonious within the warehouse and that was achieved at a geat length.
A typical day would be everyday routine, start at 19:00, arrange the delivery runs and stores, offload stock cages and bike boxes, arrange into teams of 2 or 3 then load all trailer units to the designated runs.
The hardest part of the job would be offloading the speed flow boxes from the swan neck at the back of the trailer as it is 4'0" high and 3'0" wide with 125 speed flows to offload onto pallets, but the most enjoyable would be working with these team mates throughout the night.
Pros
Good exercise, fun colleagues, free coffee.
Cons
unknown shift lengths, long hours, sweaty work constantly
