Job Purpose

The ESG Compliance Manager is responsible for coordinating and delivering the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programme, alongside overseeing regulatory compliance monitoring. The role provides visibility of ESG initiatives and regulatory developments, ensuring the business remains informed of emerging legislation, sustainability expectations, and industry standards.

You are responsible for driving ESG priorities across the business by working collaboratively with multiple functions. You support the business in understanding and responding to regulatory change, ensure compliance with reporting obligations, and help embed sustainable and responsible practices across operations.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Project Management, Quality, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience of 3 years in ESG, sustainability, compliance, regulatory affairs, project management, or a related role within consumer products, manufacturing, or retail.
  • Experience of leading or supporting sustainability strategies and managing change initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and with external partners.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of sustainability issues, ESG frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery of the ESG programme in line with business priorities.
  • Develop and maintain the ESG roadmap, tracking progress and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate cross-functional ESG working groups and support delivery of agreed actions.
  • Coordinate ESG data collection, validation, and reporting for internal and external requirements.
  • Identify ESG risks and dependencies, supporting mitigation actions.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry changes relevant to the business.
  • Assess the impact of regulatory changes and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews and support implementation of compliance changes.
  • Maintain horizon scanning and compliance tracking processes.
  • Manage compliance reporting obligations, including WEEE, Batteries, Packaging, and EPR.
