The Head of Cost Management will lead the cost management function for AWS’s capital delivery programme, a multi-billion-pound investment initiative spanning AMP8 to AMP10 (2025 - 2040). This role ensures robust cost governance, forecasting, and reporting across a complex portfolio of infrastructure projects, supporting AWS’s strategic objectives for sustainable water and wastewater services.
Please Note: This role will require 2-3 days per week based in our client’s office in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

- Directing key assignments with strategic focus, delivering best‑in‑class PMO and project controls services and strong industry engagement.
- Shaping long‑term business strategy while upholding Mace values and driving positive impact.
- Developing, mentoring and mobilising talent, fostering innovation and knowledge‑sharing across teams.
- Managing cost management strategy aligned with AWS’s capital investment and PDP framework.
- Overseeing cost planning, budgeting, change control and NEC4 compliance, ensuring robust financial governance.
- Driving EVM, benchmarking and analytics to maintain programme cost integrity.
- Building high‑performing teams and enable informed decisions through trusted stakeholder engagement and digital cost insights.
You’ll need to have:
- Extensive experience in cost management within large-scale infrastructure or utilities programmes.
- Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts, programme controls, and governance frameworks.
- Expertise in EVM, cost estimating, and financial risk management.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage multidisciplinary teams.
