Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing tiles in various settings, ensuring precision and quality in every project. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction and carpentry to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment. The Tile Setter will work closely with other tradespeople to deliver high standards of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives or primers before tile installation.
- Measure and mark layouts according to schematics and project specifications to ensure accurate placement.
- Cut tiles precisely using hand tools or power tools to fit around obstacles or into designated spaces.
- Install tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces, ensuring alignment and spacing meet quality standards.
- Use construction painting techniques where required to prepare surfaces prior to tiling.
- Follow schematics and technical drawings to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional outcome.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters or construction painters to complete projects efficiently.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction, particularly specialising in tiling installation.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, levels, chisels, and tile cutters.
- Familiarity with power tools used for cutting and shaping tiles or related materials.
- Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Basic carpentry skills for preparing surfaces or framing where necessary.
- Knowledge of construction painting techniques is advantageous for surface preparation tasks.
