Overview
The Advertising and Marketing Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization’s marketing, branding, and advertising strategies. This role ensures the company’s products, services, and brand are effectively positioned in the market to drive revenue growth, customer engagement, and competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s marketing strategy, aligned with business goals.
- Identify market opportunities, customer segments, and growth areas.
- Lead market positioning and brand strategy across all channels.
- Oversee pricing, promotion, product positioning, and go-to-market planning.
2. Advertising & Campaign Management
- Lead the planning and execution of advertising campaigns (digital, print, TV, social, outdoor, etc.).
- Work with agencies, designers, and media buyers to deliver effective campaigns.
- Approve creative concepts, media plans, and messaging guidelines.
- Ensure campaigns reflect brand identity and meet performance targets.
3. Market & Consumer Insights
- Conduct or review market research, competitor analysis, and customer insights.
- Analyze marketing performance using analytics tools (Google Analytics, CRM data, etc.).
- Use data to refine strategies and guide future marketing decisions.
4. Brand Management
- Protect and strengthen the company’s brand identity and reputation.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all communication touchpoints.
- Oversee brand guidelines, tone of voice, and creative standards.
5. Digital Marketing Oversight
- Direct digital marketing activities including:
- SEO / SEM
- Social media marketing
- Email marketing
- Content marketing
- Web analytics and performance optimization
- Evaluate emerging technologies and digital trends to keep the brand competitive.
6. Stakeholder & Cross-Department Leadership
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Finance, and Senior Leadership teams.
- Present marketing plans, forecasts, and performance reports to executives.
- Represent marketing at board-level and strategic meetings.
7. Team Leadership and Department Management
- Lead and mentor teams across marketing, creative, and advertising functions.
- Recruit, train, and develop marketing staff.
- Allocate budgets, manage expenditures, and control departmental costs.
- Build relationships with external agencies, partners, and marketing vendors.
8. Campaign Performance & ROI
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics for all marketing and advertising activities.
- Optimize campaigns to achieve maximum ROI.
- Produce regular performance reports and strategic recommendations.
