Full job description
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of Carling UK & Embed. You will manage the Purchase Ledger, ensure timely supplier payments, and assist with monthly and quarterly financial close activities. You will also contribute to reporting, audit support, and international trade compliance, ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes.
About the Job:
- Administer the Purchase Ledger, including coding and posting invoices, processing payments, and reporting on aged creditors and expenditure.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, weekly bank reconciliations, and maintaining system FX rates.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports, including shipping schedules, inventory in transit, intercompany balances, sales revenue analysis, commissions, on-time delivery, and freight costs.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation.
- Collaborate with the Credit Controller and other finance team members as needed.
- Perform additional finance tasks as required to support business objectives.
About You:
- At least AAT Level 2 qualified with 1-2 years’ finance experience.
- Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with financial systems (experience with JDE or Sage 200 is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Analytical and able to solve problems efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
