Job description

Terms and Conditions: Full time, Permanent, 37 hours per week
Department: Digital Transformation

Interview date: To be confirmed

The offer - The Digital and IT team are delivering the Council’s critical roadmap of service improvement, value acquisition and change programmes and are looking to add to their talent pool. With work sponsored by the Chief Executive and the Senior Leadership Team, projects focus on supporting the need to improve local services, reduce the Councils operating costs, maintaining the Council’s technical/security posture, and identifying how new technology can have a meaningful impact.

Candidates will have a wide range of experience that they can bring to the team and will understand the importance of strong engagement and relationships across organisations. Previous experience of Local Government is not necessary. Transferable skills and flexible/agile approaches to working are more important.

The role - Project Manager – we are looking for experienced project managers who are passionate about leading projects to successful implementation. You will enjoy building relationships with others and be confident in managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously. You will have a strong focus on deriving value in the work you deliver and be committed to driving a culture of continuous improvement. Experience in large scale change management would be beneficial, as would an open mindset. We welcome candidates that thrive in learning team environments and want to contribute towards shaping the way the Council works in the future.

The environment – you will work with a team of project managers, business analysts, data analysts, service designers and technical experts based in Blackburn town centre and have the optional benefit of hybrid working. We have a positive and supportive team working ethos which has been built up through hard work, communication and commitment to the growth and development of our colleagues.

Our ambitious programme of work presents an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference to the people of Blackburn with Darwen. Play a key role in delivering our vision for every single resident to have a good quality of life.

As part of your application please let us know how you think this role describes you.
