What is the role?


The SaaS Architect will be a hands-on architect role and a key player in the design process, mentoring team members, taking responsibility for driving solutions and advocating best practice. Reporting to the CTO you will shape the technical roadmap, take ownership of customer problems, finding solutions that work for our platform and meet different stakeholder needs.


Responsibilities:


  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures for our multi-tenant SaaS platform; aligning to our product roadmaps.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring SaaS solutions are secure. Compliance needs include keeping out SOC2 and ISO 27001 accreditations.
  • Design and understand integration with customer networks and software products.
  • Develop and maintain detailed high-quality design documentation. Working with a combination of internal and client teams to shape the architecture.
  • Work with our vendors to create stacks that meet the aims of the platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud architecture principles and standards.
  • Contribute to the ISMS security framework and development of policies that have been established.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices.
  • Support and contribute to sprint team goals.
  • Align to projects to provide architecture and cloud support.
  • Take ownership of customer problems relating to our services and stack, facilitating solutions across business areas.
  • Uphold security best practices to protect systems, data, and people.

Who is best suited to this role?


Technical Skills:


  • At least 7 years design experience on cloud systems, involving multi-tenant SaaS.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud computing technologies, architecture, and best practices.
  • Experience designing and operating environments across public clouds, Azure experience preferred.
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure Postgres Database, VPN, PrivateLink.
  • Experience with WAFs - Cloudflare preferred, runtime and workload protection practices.
  • Proficiency in cloud services, including compute, storage, databases, data analytics, networking, and security, backup and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, hands-on and as part of architecture you’ve deign and worked with.
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, hand on experience with Terraform preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to understand breakdown complex problems and communicate to stakeholders and development teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience of working on a SaaS platform is expected.
