Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries across various locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and strong communication abilities to coordinate deliveries and maintain vehicle safety standards. The Driver will play a vital part in supporting our logistics operations and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods to clients and warehouses.
  • Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and fuel efficiency.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Adhere strictly to road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies at all times.
  • Assist with warehouse tasks when necessary, including inventory management and stock organisation.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role, preferably with delivery driver experience.
  • Mechanical knowledge of vehicles, particularly flatbed lorries or similar commercial vehicles.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
  • Experience handling various types of cargo, including fragile or specialised items requiring careful handling.
  • Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle type, including any necessary endorsements for flatbed or specialised driving.
