Job Title: Product/Category Manager

Location: Erith, Kent

Department: Category team - Hand tools & power tools

Salary: £30,000-£35,000

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly driven Product/Category Manager to take ownership of a defined product portfolio and shape its future within our UK business. In this role, you will combine market insight, product expertise, and commercial thinking to build and manage a high-performing product assortment that meets customer needs and aligns with our strategic direction. You will work cross-functionally with multiple teams and act as the central hub for product knowledge, lifecycle planning, and category performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and shape the product portfolio in line with strategic direction, including identifying new product opportunities
  • Collaborate with international partners, internal teams, suppliers, and purchasing to influence portfolio
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, setup, modifications, discontinuations, and assortment hygiene
  • Build and maintain deep product expertise and act as technical support for the organisation
  • Support marketing and sales initiatives by providing product information, technical insights, and training (online and physical
  • Drive category visibility and growth through proactive marketing suggestions, cross-divisional campaigns, and internal communications
  • Monitor and optimise category performance including KPIs, inventory health, online presence, and core/non-core assortment.

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong understanding of product lifecycles, technical product attributes, and product application
  • Ability to interpret technical data, safety documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Skilled in analysing market trends, competitor activity, and performance data
  • Experience managing new product introductions, modifications, and discontinuations
  • Excellent stakeholder management with purchasing, marketing, sales, and international teams
  • Curious, commercially minded, and eager to grow product knowledge
