Nutrition Specialist (Global Regulatory & Corporate Affairs) - job post

Full job description
Hello potential future Oatly employee. It’s us, the original oat drink company that started in Sweden back 30 or so years ago.
We exist to make it easy for people to eat better and live healthier lives without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process. Sustainability, health, and transparency are the core values that guide everything we do. We're also recognised as the world’s first Climate Solutions food and beverage company, and we do it all while making some of the most delicious drinks out there.
If any of this is resonating with you, then maybe you’d like to come work with us? If so, you're in the right place.
The Role
We’re looking for a Nutrition Specialist (Global Regulatory & Corporate Affairs) to help us turn science into something people actually understand. In this role, you’ll be our go-to for nutrition intelligence, bringing solid evidence, sharp thinking, and a clear voice to help guide decisions across Oatly globally.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
-
Gather and translate nutrition science into clear, actionable insights that support decision-making across the business, from innovation to public and regulatory affairs.
-
Take a structured, critical approach to evidence: reviewing studies, building dossiers, and making sense of complex topics like dietary guidelines, health claims, and nutrition-related policies.
-
Proactively represent Oatly’s perspective by responding to government consultations on topics like dietary guidelines, labelling, trade standards and restrictions, fortification, and public procurement.
-
Build trusted relationships with external stakeholders and represent Oatly in working groups and conversations that shape the future of sustainable diets.
-
Show up (and speak up) at scientific, governmental, and industry events.
-
Lead projects that strengthen Oatly’s long-term position in a healthy, sustainable food system, balancing commercial and societal perspectives, and shaping our position statements along the way.
-
Support internal learning by helping colleagues understand the nutritional side of what we do so we can communicate responsibly, confidently, and with credibility.
-
Help position Oatly as a trusted, science-based voice in the broader conversation about nutrition and sustainable food systems.
This is a global role (with a home in the UK team), so occasional travel across the Oatly universe is part of the journey. It’s also a flexible role, full-time or part-time (minimum 60%), depending on what works for you (and us).
Who You Are
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, you might be who we’re looking for:
-
A BSc in Nutrition or Dietetics (non-negotiable)
-
Ideally an MSc in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health or similar or equivalent experience
-
Around 8+ years of experience working with nutrition/public health advocacy, ideally within corporate affairs experience
-
Strong experience translating complex science into something clear, engaging, and meaningful for non-experts
-
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
In our minds, you are passionate about improving the health of humans and the planet. You’re naturally curious and love digging into the “why” behind things. You bring a critical eye but in a way that builds, not blocks. You’re confident enough to share your perspective and humble enough to keep learning. You’re a collaborator at heart, someone who builds trust easily and enjoys working across teams, functions, and cultures. You care about making a real impact, especially in the space where nutrition meets sustainability. And when you communicate, you do it with clarity, warmth, and a bit of personality because science doesn’t have to be dry. Finally, we hope that you share our values and have a great interest to carry out our mission.
The Perks
Another bulleted list felt redundant, so we made this page talking about all the benefits we offer to sweeten the deal working with us before you apply.
[Phew! Well done if you’ve got this far. We’re glad we’ve still got your attention because we’ve got one last super important point to make. As you can probably tell, we’re a norm-breaking company. For us, diversity and differences are an obvious asset. We know that amazing candidates can sometimes be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box, and that makes us really sad. So please trust your gut and pop in your application if it’s feeling right. Good luck!]
A Note On AI
We don't mind if you use AI to help you prepare to interview with us. You could use it to spell check, do some research, or even practice for an interview – it's up to you. But please don't copy and paste answers from AI, or give examples that don't reflect your experience. Read more here.
Please apply no later than 12th of August.
