Job Summary
This post offers an exceptional opportunity to be at the heart of an innovative and growing programme that reimagines how primary care supports young people. The Programme Manager will lead the day-to-day delivery of a new, three-year initiative funded by the Maudsley Brighter Futures Fund in partnership with King’s College London’s CAMHS Digital Lab. Working across the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) boroughs — Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark, and Croydon —
The Programme Manager will oversee the development and delivery of strategic initiatives and partnership activities at the Well Centre Charity, which is leading the spread and scale of the model. This will involve working across four South London boroughs: Lambeth, Southwark, Croydon, and Lewisham. The postholder will lead the design and implementation of a new flagship three year, £1m programme, funded through the Maudsley Charities Building Brighter Futures Fund, with a focus on co-producing new services and strengthening existing provision for young people and adolescent health, guided by the Well Centre model.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the day-to-day management of this programme of work, including overseeing a clear mobilisation and delivery plan, identifying and managing risks, liaising with partners and interest-holders, reporting to funders, delivering to time and within budget.
- Representing the Well Centre Charity externally, leading steering groups, workshops, and engagement events, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, openness and transparency. Creating and leading a comms and engagement strategy for the programme of work
- Implement and manage a process to monitor activities and projects within each of the four Boroughs and develop briefings for the charity core team and programme steering group, and beyond where appropriate.
- Developing the Charity’s relationship with a wide range of key interest holders, to build strategic partnerships in order to transform clinical services for young people
- Supporting the core team and contributing to organisational management including financial and operational services, reporting and information governance.
About you
We’re looking for a thoughtful, curious, energetic and competent manager who wants their work to make a tangible difference to young people’s lives. You will need to be outcomes oriented, and to bring a positive, problem-solving mind set. - Demonstrable success in project management and delivery
- Interest in innovation and improvement within local services
- Interest in improving young people’s health outcomes
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, ability to prioritise and successfully manage own time to achieve goals

- Ability to chair meetings that include clinicians and senior managers
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior audience, and to represent the programme in discussions with commissioners and other providers
- Good interpersonal skills, and ability to work as part of a team

- Relevant Masters level degree or demonstrable experience to a master’s level
- Experience of change project delivery within health settings
- Experience of working directly with commissioners on service change or delivery
- Project management qualification
- Experience of primary care delivery and funding mechanisms
- Experience of working or liaising with the voluntary sector
